OK, we like character meals, they are always fun, but we have done most of them and the food is just so so, and you spend alot of money on them. If we did character, we would do dinner at Chef Mickeys or Crystal Palace and there are 5 of us, all considered adults, so by the time you add tip and taxes, thats around $250, for one meal. So, I'm thinking, for that money we could eat somewhere else, maybe even save a little $, but that would be our meal on the way to MK for late EMH, so I was looking at Grand Floridian Cafe or something along those lines and in that area of WDW, Contemporary, Poly or GF. Any suggestions. We thought of trying California Grill, but it seems kinda nice to take my crazy bunch to, they would probably end up throwing us out.

Kona at the Poly. might be a good choice.

I thought the dinner at CM was bad. California Grill is not too nice for your crazy bunch. They say "signature" restaurant, food is really good, prices are really good, but most wear t-shirts and shorts there as well. I don't like to miss Theme Park time for restaurant time, but if we do, I would prefer to eat in the Theme Park as opposed to the outlying resorts as you lose travel time. Have you considered the Plaza TS restaurant in MK? The food is good (not great), you're there on main street, and the milk shakes are terrific. I liked the Grand Floridian Cafe (french onion soup was terrific) and there is Kona at the Poly.

Lots of good restaurants for adults to choose from!
Artist Point, Flying Fish, Biergarten just to name a few.
Or maybe what you might consider instead is a dinner show -- the luau or HddR.

Keep in mind - dinner at CG or any of the signature restaurants will probably cost a lot more than $250.00 for 5 adults. At any of the signatures, our checks always come close to $200 for just DH and myself. That is usually with the least expensive bottle of wine on their menu, but still, entrees alone in those restaurants can be around 40.00 and some of you might want appetizers, some will want drinks and some might want desserts. It adds up very quickly. Just so you are aware...

I'm not really talking signature restuarants, just something with better food than the character buffet. It is myself, DH, DD15, DD13, and DN19, so I don't want to do signature with the kids, I have one that will only eat chicken strips, macaroni or pizzas, occassionally a steak if there is nothing else on the menu. I don't mind the time out of the park or the sit down meal, this is our last day and we will not go to MK till late that day anyway, they have a late EMH and that is how we always end or trip, so just looking for something else, maybe something we haven't done.

We like the character breakfasts but not the dinners because the food is too salty and not the best quality....I love regular TS meals, I think you should go for those instead
