Staying onsite for one night to get the line passes.
Plan is to go check in day, and check out day.

Is it 'safe' to sleep in on check in day? Will we have enough park time? My family thinks they can do six early days without a break :sad2:I need plan 'B' for when they realize they can't. So it is Epcot or US/IoA...

Going June 7/8
Half the group has no love of coasters, so we can only torture them to a point...

Plan is we will get up early for Harry Potter area on second day.
We have park hoppers. I bought the Costco 3 day tickets thinking we could use day three next year unless it seems worth going a third day without the onsite line pass thing (doubtful).

Why don't you get up early the first day? Then if you feel you don't want to do it again, you sleep in the second day.

getting in the park early is basically to do parry hotter before the crowds start.

if you are not a parry hotter fan, then no problem in sleeping in.

you can hit parry hotter in the last hour the park is open for less crowds.

What does the majority of the group love more, seeing the brand new HP or Epcot? Remember even if they aren't huge HP fans the area is amazing and the FJ ride truly unique.

If everyone in the group has experienced Epcot at least once and have not been to HP then I vote make IOA your early days and plan to sleep in on the Epcot day.

If you're used to Disney the UN Express pass will be a treat, just remember it doesn't work for FJ.

If someone in the group has never been to Disney before then I would choose Epcot as the early day and just plan on one early entry to IOA.

ETA: our experience with the FJ posted wait time, granted we went in early May so no huge crowds: The time posted (for us) was actually the entire time start to finish from entering the castle to exiting.
The FJ castle is amazing and an attraction in itself. A 45 min wait time actually was 45 mins from entering the front of the castle (storing bag, walking through the entire line and seeing "everything" inside, riding the ride and leaving the castle again). Long story short, don't be afraid of the posted wait time, it goes by fast as you enjoy seeing the inside of the castle.

We just did this on our trip. Most of the time we were at the Residence in for our SeaWorld portion of the the trip. Tuesday (check in day), we "slept in". Of course for our family, that means around 8:30- 9:00. We drove over to Universal, checked into the HRH, and were at Universal Studios around 10:00. We did have park hoppers, but we didn't use them. Did a full day at Universal, then, on check out day we were up at early to be at the front of the line when Islands of Adventure opened, straight to Harry Potter.

It worked out great. With Express we did everything we wanted in both parks, which was almost everything.
