ok ladies... I am in need of some advice!
I have what I think is the world's oiliest skin! I use to be on medication to help but due to a lack of perscription insurance for a few months I have to stop taking them (VERY expensive!). Are there any products out there that you have tried that work?
I know Mary Kay has something for oily skin..
I use Bare minerals for my makeup and have tried many different face soaps.
I literally feel like I am shiny all day long!
HeLp....:confused3

You might laugh, but I read this tip on this board almost 2 years ago..take Milk of Magnesia and apply a very light layer to dry clean skin...works really really well. Give it a week or so to fully work. Good luck

1) Use a moisturizer formulated for oily skin. This really will help your skin not OVERPRODUCE oil on its own. I like Philosophy's "Hope in a Bottle".

2) Follow with a shine control product. I've used Mary Kay in the past, but I like Smashbox's "Anti-Shine" better. I use just a little, around the center of my face.

3) Keep blotting papers in your purse for touch-ups. Don't rub, just gently press them against the oily parts of your face during the day to absorb the excess oil without smearing or removing your makeup.

4) Instead of soap, look for a gentle facial cleanser. If your soap is harsh, it can irritate your skin and cause it to produce even MORE oil. I use Philosophy's "Purity Made Simple" (for all skin types) , but they have one called "Never Let Them See You Shine" that is formulated to help control oil.

Hope that helps!

I just recently started using this with my Bare Minerals:

I've always used their primer, but this new oil control version does reduce the shine!

Yep it does - I use this method. I buy the generic MOM.

Believe it or not when I started moisturizing my skin it greatly decreased the oil. The first few days were rough - I was oilier than usual, but then everything balanced out and my skin is way less oily now. It's weird really. :confused3

Sharon, that pic is impressive.

However, whenever I use monistat chafing gel, or ANY other primer (smashbox, BE, etc.) I break out! I get tiny, teeny little whiteheads by the end of the day. When I stop using it, they do come back up. It has to be a reacion to the silicone base or something. It is so sad to me!

MOM does work for me though.
