My husband was talking to a friend today and the friend remarked that she just had oil delivered to her house and paid $2.06 a gallon for it!

I couldn't help but be thankful that DH had prepaid and bought oil during the summer for $1.36 a gallon.

What a huge jump in price here! Is it that expensive where you live?

1.93 a gallon here (10 cents/gallon off if paid within 7 days)

gas from 2.02 cheap- to 2.22 for high octane

and the REAL kicker----------

DIESEL FUEL IS UP TO 2.39 a GALLON!!

thank god DH's diesel truck gets average of 21 mpg and we burn firewood- (which we cut ourselves for free--) for 95% of our winter heat!

I think I'm lucky, I've got gas.

Um.. that didn't come out right.

Ah, neither did that. Got any Pepto? Anyone?

I just had our tank filled a few weeks ago...1.38 a gallon.

I knew it would go up, just the reason I did it early, thank goodness.

We signed a contract with a price cap of $1.59/gallon (if it goes down, YEAH RIGHT, we get the lower price) and in the time it took them to get our contract to us (they are like 4 blocks away!) and for us to sign and send it back, the price went up to $1.79/gallon. Now it's $2.09. I'm glad we signed when we did. We did start the season with a pretty full tank but I'm sure we'll need a fill up at some point.

I guess it is pretty much the same then everywhere. I just couldn't believe that it was $2.09!! Wow!

Our oil company usually sends out the package deals (for prepayment or just contractual pricing) in March/April. This year they waited until 2 weeks ago! I'm sure they just didn't want to go too low and lose $! But we're locked in at 1.89 - wish it was better! (Last year we were locked in at 1.29!)

We just got our tank filled at $1.75/gallon. We usually buy our oil for the year each August, but then it was set at $1.60. Of course, we chose not to this year.....I'm sure I will regret it but I can;t look back now. We have a thermostat on a timer and we have the heat set back when we are at work and the kids in school and while we are sleeping. I set all temps back a degree to 67 when at home to 62 when away or asleep. It will be the winter of extra blankets and sweaters. :(

I am afraid there will be people in our area making a decision between heat and food this winter......:( :( :(
