Reposting for a friend.... OHIO Thoroughbred horses need homes. 52 horses will go to Sugarcreek on Saturday for slaughter. Gentleman died, son wants nothing to do with them. Most broodmares are broke and some are in foal weanling, yearlings, 2 yrs and 3 yrs old most are gelded. NONE broke and very lightly handled. Free and papered. Friend of the deceased is trying to find them homes Barnesville, OH

They have all long-since been adopted.

Are any of them trained as therapy horses? My DD's barn is always looking for the right therapy horses to add to the barn.

This is right near me and i am familiar with the vet who owned them. They are all safe... this is not anything non factual though so it wouldn't be on snopes... it's a true story. And they haven't been long since placed. The vet just died last Thursday and the problem only resolved a couple of days ago.

Thanks for looking out for the horses, OP.. I wish all horses in auctions and headed to slaughter received such quick responses.
