How do you donate tags?

There was a thread ages ago on the CB by someone who wanted to give somebody their tags so then we all asked if we could give up our tags becuse it seemed like a nice thing to do. Two days later BAM my tags were gone. I'm not going to say I don't regret it, that would be lying.
