My family is considering going here for dinner one night, especially after reading all of the raves on this board. Would someone mind explaining the atmosphere and dinner to me? Thanks!

We just ate there for the first time on our June trip. It was one of our favorite places to eat--the kids loved it. Its a very busy place, lots always going on. We had an 8:40 ps with Wishes at 9pm that night. We were not righjt next to the window but the windows are huge so its not hard to see it. They bring out some food items first and put them on the lazy susan at the table. Then periodically the waitstaff comes by with shrimp, steak, chicken or pork from off the grill. They had coconut races for the kids, they teach them a Hula dance and they have hula hoops out for the kids to try out.
My 4 yr old and 7 yr old nephew didnt want what was being served so our waitress brought them chicken fingers and mac'n cheese from Kona and they were only charged for that.

You can get an idea of the atmosphere from the pictures here...

Ohana starts with the last picture in the 3rd row, and continues to the 5th row.

The food is all you can eat, served family style. It consists of salad, wontons, rice, chicken wings and I think beans for appetizers. The meats come out on skewers and you take whichever kind you like. There is turkey, beef, shrimp and pork, and dipping sauces to go with the meat. Dessert was pineapple chunks with melted caramel for dipping. There is another dessert menu, but that is not included in the all you can eat price, so you pay extra if you choose that. We had no room left by that time anyway, so skipped anything extra.
WE really enjoyed the food and experience here, and are going back next time. Ohana is now our must do!

Tried it for the first time March 2004. We loved it. Especially the grilled shrimp (they were the best)

We had reservations for Mickey's Backyard BBQ and after watching the Food Network program on Disney Weddings (showed dinner at Ohana) we picked up the phone and changed our PS to Ohana. We have been here for breakfast but never for dinner.

This place was awesome. I can see where some young children might not like the food, but my girlfriends 2 kids loved it

After reading the Ohana threads for some months, we booked our first dinner with them tomorrow night.
I am very confident we'll love it!!

We had a great time at Ohanas' on our trip in October - we liked the food and my DD loved the games!! We are going back next Friday!!! (That sounds so good to say - "Next Friday"!!)
