Ohana's?????

We have never been to Ohana's (or the poly for that matter!).
Please give me the low down on what it is like!

I looked at the menu and it looks yummy enough. But I am just not clear,is it a set menu all the time? Am I correct that everyone gets the same thing? Is there a menu to order off of? How do they serve you? Is it family style,buffet style,individually plated??

Okay here is the kicker, we are considering a small (teensy would be more accurate) wedding at disney and need somewhere to dine afterwards for our small group.

Just a few adults and one preteen.

V & A doesn't appeal to us at all.

We want somewhere where we won't look all goofy/out of place if dressed up.

We want good food but money (unfortunately) is a issue-we are paying (not the folks).

From the menu and pics of the resturant I thought that Ohana's may be a possibility but never having been there I can't really say..

Please someone help meeeeeee!

O'hana's is one of my favorites. The menu is fixed. You are first served on lazy susans of appetizers. There is shrimp, chicken wings, and different types of vegetables. It is all you can eat. If you like ask for more. The main course is served on long skewers. There is steak, pork, turkey and shrimo. You can eat as much or little as you want. It is so good. You can ask for 1 or all the meat again and again and again. Desert has a menu or you can the one that comes with your dinner. I never had room so I do not know about the desert. I think that the room will be comfortable with everyone dressed up or down. The only thing is they play games with the little ones. Coconut races and hula hoops. It is fun to watch and very relaxing as well. Enjoy, I feel you can't go wrong here.

For an after wedding meal I would NOT go to 'ohana (though it would be a good rehearsal dinner). I would without hesitation go to California Grille.

However, 'Ohana is very good. sherrycurl's description should give you a good idea of what it's like.

With you paying for everyone it would be nice to have a fixed price that you can rely on. (Except for drinks and maybe desserts.) If you go somewhere like Cali-Grill you might have some folks go hog wild with their orders! At least with the "Ohana pricing you will somewhat be in control. Maybe you could ask to be seated away from the children's activities. A year ago we had a window seat for fireworks on the far right side of the restaurant. We were out of view of the children's games. The down side was that this time we didn't have a view of the big fire pit thing that they cook on (which makes the restaurant have a unique feel to it). Good luck with your decision!

I agree......Ohana's is wonderful but definitely ask to be seated away from all the activity. The food is fantastic and like was said before is a set menu so you pretty much know how much you will spend. We had two kids with us (8 and 3) and we even sat away from the activity and it was much more enjoyable.......they got to participate but when it was over we walked back to our seats and it was a little more quiet and not as crazy........there was a couple sitting right next to the perimeter of where the coconut races were.....boy, I felt sorry for them!!!!! I planned our dinner around the fireworks at the MK and requested a seat next to the window. It was so nice to see them over the castle while we ate......the music was piped in and it really was a great experience.

'Ohana is a wonderfull restaurant. The food is great at 'Ohana. 'Ohana has a wonderful Polynesian atmosphere. They will bring you all the food you want at 'Ohana. It is loads of fun to watch the kids activities at 'Ohana. Always rememeber.......
