From most of the reviews I have read, there are some complaints about being rushed through your meal here. I am second guessing my reservation. What do you think? Is there any way to handle this, can you ask your server to slow down? I want to enjoy my meals on vacation. Do other places do this? Thanks.

I have eaten there 4 times in the last 3 years and never felt rushed. However, I feel that you cannot look at is as appy, entree, dessert kind of place. Your salad and all your sides come out at one time. Then shortly after the meats start coming out. My DH and I just see it as a meal you don't have to wait on. Yes, you get alot of food at one time, but like I said we just start filling our plates and eating as we wish. If you aren't ready for the meats, just tell them that you would like to wait. I have never felt like they were trying to get me out of there fast. It is one of our most favorite places to eat.

I totally agree with this post. 'Ohana is a family favorite of ours. My son is a very, very slow eater and even he didn't feel rushed. I wouldn't be too worried. :goodvibes

We had breakfast at Ohana and didn't feel rushed. They brought out the goodies all at once and were happy to bring more. Yum!

I had to laugh at your post. We feel anything but rushed....infact every time we are there our server is so slow we get our food before our drinks. And forget about the check. That meal usually takes an hour and 1/2, when any other place we are out in 45 mins to an hour.

I wish they would rush me!! LOL

We ate here last Sep (so it was a while ago) but we felt rushed.

I really believe we just got a server that was having a bad day but unfortunatly I would not try it again as it ruined our experience.

As other posters said, it is more like a cycle of food that is continually brought out. Everyone's meal is the same. I would just just ask for more of whatever comes out to quick and you don't get to. And the only thing I would ask the waitstaff to wait on would be dessert. It never hurts to just ask and be polite. At the beginnig of the meal, just say, "could you please hold out bringing dessert until I ask, we have some slow eaters and some quick eaters", and thank you.

I wouldn't cancel for that reason though. We didn't like Ohana but I would still recommend people to try it once, as it really seems to be be a favorite. Enjoy your trip!

we have never felt rushed. they bring you out the food in stages, but it's salad and then then bring the sides and then the meat people come around. from there you can take all the time you want to eat and when you say that you are ready for dessert they bring that. dont cancel Ohana, it's my favorite!

I wouldn't call it rushed - I'd say that service and food comes out quick similar to if you were eating at a buffet. After the food is ready, it's up to you to pace your dinner. This is our favorite disney restaurant!!!! Don't cancel that reservation until you go - it's awesome!

my bf and I ate at Ohana in January and May of this year. we've never felt rushed. in fact, the pacing of the bread and drinks to the appetizers and then the meats actually seemed too slow :rotfl2: we WERE really hungry though :rolleyes1

We ate at 'Ohana last month is was one of the best meals of our trip! We were not rushed at all. We had a nice leisurely dinner! Go for it!

I agree with many of the posters above. I didn't feel rushed at all, I actually felt extremely well taken care of by the amount of food brought out and how quickly it came (and came again, and again). The serving style is, I believe, what leads people to feel rushed, but once you load your plate, you are welcome to stay and enjoy and get more at your leisure.

This is one of our favorites, and I strongly encourage you to give it a try for yourself. Just remember when they're bringing you tons of food at once that they're doing it because it's family style and, just like eating with your family, they're going to feed you until you burst!

We always have eaten at Ohana for the character breakfast because it's my daughter's favorite characters. We have been there several times and have never felt rushed. As the others have said, they do bring the food out quickly, but they don't hurry you along. Enjoy your time at Disney!:mickeyjum:woohoo:

I didn't feel rushed at all when we were there last year, but I also don't want to sit down for a 2-hour meal. I wonder if it's less that they're trying to rush us than that they're trying to understand that most of us bring small children with short attention spans.

When we arrived the last time, we were lucky enough to get a window seat 1 1/2 hours before Wishes. We asked the server to please serve slow, so we could linger and watch the fireworks...he was more than happy to oblige! :goodvibes

I've never felt rushed at Ohana's. They do bring the food out one fish after another, but the waitress always says to stay as long as we would like and that she's only brining all the food out so we don't fill up early and miss anything later that we would enjoy! Besides, your family would never rush you.:lmao:

Yes if you think of Ohana as sitting down at a family meal and helping yourself to each dish spread out on the table before you that is how it is.

Some negative reviews seem to think it is separate courses - I hadn't finished the salad and they brought the wings, we were still eating the wings starter and they brought the noodles....

We loved it but knew what to expect even as first timers from all the helpful reviews on the DIS.

Only 1 meal out of 14 TS did they bring the entree when we were eating our stater (le cellier).

Sorry ti take over the thread but I was wondering... I have a 9:30pm ressie on a night when wishes is at 10pm.

1 can I see Wishes from the restaurant?

2 will we be rushed out after wishes is over?

We have never, ever, ever felt rushed at any single Disney restaurant, least of all Ohana. Our last couple few trips there took over two hours each.

Yes, you can see Wishes from Ohana. The best view is from the tables that overlook the volcano pool. If I were you, I would get to the restaurant on the early side so that you have a chance of being seated before the show. Lots of people stall so they can stay in the restaurant for Wishes.

See my post above. There have been times when we wished to be rushed, but it has never happened to us.
