O'Hanas

I'm going to be in Disney Aug 9th to the 16th. I called on the 90 day out for my reservations. I got all i wanted except for O'Hanas I couldn't get any reservations befor 8:50 pm. Did anyone else have the same issue? The CM on the phone said that maybe something was wrong with the computer. I don't think that was the case because I called back every day and it is still the same way.

Well I tried to get O'hana on 8/18 or 8/20 for dinner and it was totally booked. A few other people have commented here that they also couldn't get O'hana the first week of Free Dining - so maybe it was just everyone's 1st choice?? I got my second choice of Teppan Edo but not until 7:50 pm. I did get all my other choices. The general advice going around is to keep trying to call back and hope for a cancellation. Good Luck!

Totally had the same issue. I called this morning for ADRs and had to juggle around quite a bit. Finally was able to get a 7pm on one day. Otherwise, there was nothing available before 8:30pm all week.

I was able to get 8:50 the night before we leave. We had reservations here on our last trip but they had a small fire when they first lit the pit and they had to close for the night! Hopefully our luck is better this trip!

Keep trying, especially 45 days out, since some people may have cancelled their packages at that point. Also, O'Hanas is an Irish restaurant. Ohana is the restaurant at the Poly.

We got a reservation for August 14th(our last nite) at guess what time...8:50 p.m. I had requested 8:15 p.m. because we wanted to see Wishes from inside and then head over to Mk for the EMH. So, I guess 8:50 works for me anyway. I was told that there was nothing earlier all week.

Me, too. I told my TA she could book 'Ohana any time between 5 and 7. The earliest she got was 8:55 p.m.!!! Naturally, we can't do that with two young kids. We rebooked at Whispering Canyon at Wilderness.

I can't believe it filled up so quickly!

MANY are saying that if the CM put in a time RANGE versus a specific TIME they got very different results. SO I would personally CALL back and go by 15 minute intervals at least three times to see for an opening.

Our Ohana ressie is 9:35pm on August 24!!
I was originally asking for 8:30 pm because I want to see wishes @10:00, however, there was nothing available until 9:35pm. I just realized that the restaurant close at 10:00, how can we suppose to finish our dinner in 25 minutes? Will they rush you to finish dinner because they are closing? Please help!
Can we just show up earlier say, 9:00 pm to see if they will seat us earlier?

Sorry Dining Plan fans but the DP is really ruining table service dining at WDW. Most TS restaurants have become increasingly overcrowded and disorganized in the past several years. And everyone thinks it's such a great financial deal but guess what?...Disney would not be offering it if they weren't making big money on it. Fact is, families that would regularly be doing 1-2 sit down meals in a week are now doing sit down dining every night. And these restaurants are not properly equipped to handle the increased business. 'Ohana has been a fiasco the past 2 years we have dined there. But we still love it and will continue to eat there.

I agree that free dining is not what it is cracked up to be. We have been to WDW 12 times, but never during free dining. I am really worried about our Ohana We decided to splurge and stay at the Poly because of the restaurants that are there. It will be so disappointing to be at the Poly and have to tell my kids they can't eat at Ohana's. They love it there. We will never go over free dining again. We have never eaten at Kona and I have read very good reviews, so maybe we will just have to give that a try.

Same thing here. Called last week for our July 4th trip (last minute trip using DVC points that would otherwise expire) and was able to get Ohana for 9:30 pm. I figured it was because we were calling last minute.

We're there Aug 8-15. Staying CL at the Poly and all the IPO could get us at 90 days out was an 8:50 for a party of 4. We were hoping for something a little earlier but I'll check back periodically to see if anything opens up. They had no trouble getting everything else we wanted at the times we requested. She was suprised that she couldn't book anything earlier.

We are not doing O'Hana this trip but when we went last Aug. we went and found it very interesting that there were many empty tables but they were telling walk-ups there was no availablity. Not sure if some of the problems come from Disney cutting their number of employees and they don't have enough staff to cover the entire restaurant.

It's really frustrating that Ohana is so booked for dinner. We just made our ADRs this morning for our trip starting August 20th, and the only night we could get dinner there before 8:50 was our last night, the 27th, when we got a 5:25 pm reservation. This is doubly frustrating as we are staying at the Poly and a big selling point was Ohana! I'll keep calling back, but I'm not too hopeful.

Wow I can't beleive that you are CL and the IPO can't get you a reservation at an earlier time. I do love this resturant but I hope that with it being so popular that the service does't go down the hill.
