Hi all. Thinking about doing O'hanas on a MNSSHP night. My question is: How is the food at O'hanas? Is it a buffet or family style at your table?

Also, can you take the monorail directly from Poly to Magic? No stops and get offs in between?

The food at O'Hana's is great. The grilled meats are to die for. It's family style. They bring it to you and you can eat as much of whatever you want. This is a must when we go. The monorail makes one stop between MK and Poly. The night we rode it was a stop at GF. It's still quicker than any other transport.

We ate there a year ago and LOVED it! They will bring you so much food and you will be stuffed, so make sure that you leave enough room for the banana bread pudding - yummo! We went to Kona in May and my DH asked for the bread pudding from Ohana instead of anything on their dessert menu :lmao: They brought it to him, though! I also agree with MickeyandFriends83, having only one stop to MK in the evening is a great benefit too! Enjoy!

'Ohana is great, we go back every trip. it is family style and they will just keep bringing food until you are done. the bread pudding is the best and you can take the monorail to MK, but there is one stop on the way.

If you are planning to dine at 'Ohana before a MNSSHP this year I recommend attempting to get a dining ADR ASAP. It is an extremely popular restaurant and has become increasingly hard to book. Walk up's are rarely taken now :( . We dine there every WDW visit, and actually did it before a MNSSHP a few years back. We had a 5:15 ADR and were able to eat (food is brought to your table family style, meats are brought by on skewers), go back to our room at the Poly to get the girls in costume, and arrive around 7PM for the party. Good luck!

yeah I called and all they had was a 9:30 on our MNSSHP. That's no good. :(

How many are in your party? We will have 5 this time since we are taking our older DDs BFF, we snagged a 5:20 on Nov 7 but have to split up between two tables. All I was seeing for a party of 5 was 8:30 or later. Keep calling back, and even try having your Concierge at your resort try for you.

party of 3

Just keep trying. Also, what about Kona Cafe? I've never eaten there but I've heard that some dishes are similar. Another one you might concider is "the Wave" at CR. We actually had a ADR for the old Concourse Steakhouse a couple of years back but went ahead and entered MK at 4 with our party tickets. DH suggested I ask at the podium of LTT (I had called and been told booked solid). Well, I looked at him like he was nots, walked up and asked nicely and we were seated in less than 30 minutes. So you can occasionally get lucky. :goodvibes:
