Ohanas??

Here's what I've noticed about the reviews at Ohana.

They went through a spell where they were not so good, but I noticed that they got WORSE during the busiest times of the year over the past couple years. A LOT worse. Recently, they seem to be improving. I'm not sure if that's because they've "turned the corner" or they just do better during slower times. Or a bit of both.

We're there in early January. It was stupendous in january of '06 and was one of our "must go back" choices for this trip. The reviews gave us some worry, when making our ADR's back in June, but we decided to keep it, anyway. If they're as good this time as they were last time, they'll stay "on the list" for future trips.

I went in 2005 and loved it, before going in October I'd read some pretty horrible reviews, and debated changing my ADR. I kept it, and am glad to say that it was even better this time.

My family and I have visited ohana's for years. It used to be a favorite of ours. Our last couple visits have been ok. Our last visit in April, please keep in mind we are not hard to please people, all of us almost spit the coffee out it was so bad. These are things that never used to happen there. It's a great time for the kids, but I'd hate to see it drop to the level of chef mickey's. Although I wouldn't say it's close to that yet.

I love 'Ohanas. 'Ohanas is the first ADR we make for any trip! It was by far our most memorable dining experience - watching the evening fireworks at a window table with a great view of the Castle.

Food is great, servers are wonderful. As previous poster noted - be firm with server if you want to eat at a more leisurely pace. Kick back, have a Mai Tai, watch the coconut races and enjoy!
