Ohana's Tip

I wanted to try Ohanas, but with just my mom and I, I know we will only eat the potatos, steak, salad, and the dessert. If we tell them this are they just going to bring everything to the table anyway?

It is Disney...They will respect any requests you make.

My friend and I ate at 'Ohana in December 2005, and we both enjoyed the food and atmosphere! (We also stuffed ourselves silly with the yummy shrimp, chicken wings, potatoes, and various meat skewers!) We will be returning this September, of course, during the free dining promotion!

'Ohana = :banana:

Thank you. That drives me nuts :)

Same here ... almost as much as "Boma's" and "Jiko's" ....

:rotfl: ... why does everything have to be given (incorrect) ownership?

We have never had a problem with getting too much of the appetizers. The usually just bring us a smaller amount and we wind up asking for more. We also love the bread pudding. :cool1:

Me, too.

I have seen 'Ohana spelled wrong in all sorts of ways:

Ohana
Ohanas
Ohana's

O'hana
O'hanas
O'hana's

O'Hana
O'Hanas
O'Hana's

'Ohanas
'Ohana's
'Ohanas'

I've seen most of the same variations on Boma, Jiko, and The Mara, and I've even seen Biergarten and Le Cellier made into posessives with the S on the end.

I know it's a reduculous thing to be bothered by, but it does bother me. I usually reply in posts "'Ohana (apostrphe at the begining, no S on the end) means family!"

And family means nobody goes home hungry.

You must be teachers! You know the saying...You can take a teacher out of the classroom, but you can't stop him/her from correcting your grammar! :rotfl2:

BTW...This saying definitely applies to me...a 4th grade teacher! :teacher:

Also BTW...you spelled ridiculous, apostrophe and beginning incorrectly ! :rotfl:

Another BTW...I'm just joking in case anyone is lighting up their torches :hippie:

Thabks for the tip. Me and my Family are going to be eating their in October when we go down. My family are good eaters so I don't think leaving a lot of food there is a problem. :)

Obviously, then, I'm no teacher.

This illustrates the greatest weakness of a message board - no spell checker.

Read the OP for this thread. Ohana is lots of fun for kids but not for couples without kids.

Those poor people! Last year a CM joked that what we see as personal space, Disney sees as "more available space." :rotfl2: That is definitely the case here! I am excited though that the meal will be good food & fun! We have this scheduled after a no (back to the room for a nap) break day @ Animal Kingdom! I was was worried about them needing to sit still @ a restaurant!

Question- Is there a good table to request to view the fireworks & be close to the fun?

Notr necessarily. My husband and I are child-free and really enjoyed Ohana. We were seated by the window and never got bothered. I wouldn't discount it for child-free couples. Everyone's experience is different.

We ate all our appetizers and asked for seconds! I got thirds on the shrimp! LOL! I don't eat the meats on the skewers though. They are always either tough or bland. I prefer the appetizers and dessert!

Us too! I OD'ed on the chicken wings, they were sooooo good! The shrimps we sent away because I couldn't bring myself to clean them and my dbf would have passed out if he had to do it  but they did look good! Everything was gorgeous but we too didn't have much room left when the meats came around!

This is a MUST DO resturant for us  ! We don't have children either but we love em and at Disney they are everywhere so if they were running rampant at Ohana's boy we sure didn't notice :tilt:.
