During our stay at the GF we are planning on taking advantage of the closeness of the Polynesian and walking over to have dinner there one night. Our day will be spent at Typhoon Lagoon and we are ususally quite tired by the end of the day so we are looking for a good meal but not a fine dining extravaganza. I have booked dinner at the Kona Cafe(I know the food will be very good here) but now I am thinking maybe we should try O'hanas....sounds like a lot of fun and right in keeping with the tropical theme (Typhoon Lagoon.....). It is myself and my best friend (on probably the trip of a lifetime!!!) and possibly another friend who lives in the area....50 somethings that have lots of fun no matter what we do.Any thoughts here.....::MinnieMo

I dont think you can go wrong at either place. Have you looked at the menus? Ohana has a set menu/set price, whereas at Kona you just order off the menu. Does one appeal to you more?
Godo luck deciding, it is a very tough choice! ;)

Stick with Kona's the food, desserts and service are wonderful.
Ohanas can get very noisy, races with the kids etc and we were not impressed with the food or service.

Another vote for Kona...so very good!

Consider taking the small launch over to dinner. It leaves the GF from the dock near Narcoossee's and is so relaxing. It's especially beautiful being out on the lake in the evening. The Polynesian is the first stop after the GF. After dinner, you can take that beautiful stroll back to the GF.

We love the Kona Cafe. This will be the second trip when DH & I leave the kids in child care (The Neverland Club- they love it!) and we go to the Kona Cafe for dinner. With all the restaurants nearby we still choose that one.

I loved the food at both :) If you go to 'Ohana, make sure you bring your appetite, there is a lot of food! I have to agree that 'Ohana can get a bit noisy since they have singing, coconut races and hula hoop games for the kids.

Both are very good - I don't think you will be disappointed whatever choice you make. BTW - DD(14) and I eat here about every other trip (can't fit in everything!) and we really enjoy watching the children playing their games! If you want quiet, though, go with Kona.

Have fun!!:sunny:

Just when I had kind of talked myself into O'hana several of your posts were along the lines of why I had booked Kona in the first place....very good food.I think I will stick with Kona and save Ohana for my trip in October with my picky eater son (still at 25!!) his girlfriend and DH. Thanks for all the help!!::MinnieMo

We ate dinner at O'Hana's 1 night in Dec 02. DH wants to go back when we are in WDW this Oct.
(We got a PS there the day before we went)
