We did both during our stay at the Poly last year. First, I would like to say that the Kona Cafe was the best meal we had the whole entire week. My Filet was dream quality, my husband loved the Mahi-mahi. Our desserts were almost sinful.
Our meal at Ohana's felt rushed. They kept moving us along too quickly even when we asked for everything to slow down a bit. The apps. were great but, unfortunately, some of the meat was inedible. The steak was grisly and impossible to cut. The turkey was fine, the sausage was ok, but the rest of the meats were not of good quality.
My biggest complaint was that they rushed us. We are not slow eaters and have never been rushed before in a restaurant. But it was so obvious that they wanted us done and out that it hurt our little feelings. Hard to enjoy, when you know you are not wanted. Dessert was good too.
We just didn't have the tropical experience that we were hoping for.
