I really want to eat at the Poly for dinner one night. It will be me and DH. Any preference regarding Ohanas or Kona Cafe. Kona seems to have a better menu, but I like the idea of Ohanas. Any suggestions? Thanks!

We love them both for different reasons. Kona is excellent-it is a more relaxed meal because there is not as much interaction with the waitstaff. But O'Hana is fun with a group and the food is delicious!! Sorry that probably doesn't help much-but both are great restaurants!!!

I prefer the food at Kona. I'm not crazy about the atmosphere. It's a big open space and kinda like you're just sitting off the side of the lobby. But the food's amazing.

Ohana is a lot of fun. Great atmosphere. It can be kinda loud with all the kids activities going on. Excellent view if you're sitting by the window. Tons of good food. You'll walk out feeling bloated and ready for a nap. It's a unique experience, and you should really do it at least once.

If you're choosing a restaurant based only on food quality, I'd pick Kona. But you can have a great meal anywhere. Ohana's offers a unique experience you probably won't find back home. So while you're on vacation, I'd recommend Ohana.

We've had two bad experiences two years in a row at KONA - bad food and service and the ambiance is that of a crowded loud coffee house. Since Ohana has changed their menu, it seems much more apealling! The atmosphere there has always been great. :thumbsup2

I totally agree. I also lean Kona because I cannot eat a lot of meat- Ohana is like a meat-fest. Of course you don't have to eat a lot but the showcase of the restaurant is all those different meats on the skewers. that being said, probably our one Top 5 best meals EVER at WDW was at Ohana in 2003 (before my protein restriction started). Food was good, service excellent, and we had a window seat facing the castle, and then they piped in music for the fireworks. Unforgettable.:cloud9:

We have the same dilemma. Just today I did the ADR for Kona and, of course, now I am second-guessing myself, thinking we should have done Ohana. :confused3 Sometimes I do get so tired of planning.

i know that feeling... but i would go with Kona for dinner. I have not done it for dinner, but for lunch and loved it. I have done Ohana for dinner and it was only ok...but that was just because i was a picky eater...but overall i did like kona better

We do not miss Ohana every time we go to WDW, a family favorite!

I think I'm going to try Ohana, more for the experience of it. Thanks for the suggestions!
