We are staying at POR and want to take our sons, 3 and 5 for a character breakfast. We did Chef Mickey's dinner on our last trip and want to do something different. I have narrowed it down to O'hana's or Cape May because of the characters. We are going with my in-laws as well, and want to know how the food/experience is at each place. The other thing I'm concerned with is convenience. Will it be easier to go to O'hana's because of the monorail? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

We chose to go with Cape May because it is a buffet and O'hanas is pre-plated. You can still get as much as you want, But we didn't want to have to ask for more. Cape May was wonderful. We have done their Character breakfast 3 times.

We love Cape May, especially my DS (6yo). The food is great and the characters are fun. We have never done Ohana's, so I can't comment on that. On our last trip after we ate at Cape May we took the boat to MGM or you could take the boat to Epcot.

Both were absolutely wonderful, no complaints about either one. Cape May had the huge buffet and the characters would come around dressed up in their beach gear which is really cute. Ohana was a family breakfast platter, which included a little of everything. The characters dress up in their island attire. Ohana has a oval path in the seating area. The kids get to have a little parade and walk around. For that reason I would choose Ohana over Cape May. I'm sure that you will enjoy either one. Enjoy. ::MickeyMo

I have only done Cape May for dinner which is very good, but I would definately say to try Ohana for breakfast! This is one of my favorites (as well as my kids) and it is a must do for every trip. The character interaction is great and the characters do a parade with the kids around the restaurant.
My vote goes to Ohana!!!

We love Ohanna's, BUT NOT the character breakfast there. Its not worth it at all. I would go anywhere but there.

We do Ohana's BECAUSE its family style. We find we get plenty to eat, and in fact have less tendancy to uncomfortably overeat. Plus we don't need to handle multiple buffet plates when we had little kids.

My kids will be six and seven next trip - old enough to handle their own buffet plate - and we are thinking Cape May because we will be staying at the BW.

I loved Ohana's breakfast! Plus what better way to get excited for a day at Magic Kingdom then eating Mickey waffles and staring at the castle?

We did Ohana's on our last trip in 2004. It was wonderful and I would recommend it to anyone!! Our DD (age 6 then) loved everything about it. She paraded around the restaurant right behind Mickey and danced with Goofy!! Chip and Dale are there also. Chip sat down in her chair at our table and put her in his lap and I got a picture!! It really was magical!!!

We have done both with our 3 ds, we did the cape may buffet for this past easter and I really dont think we will be going back. I did a dining review. Our server was terrible, goofy accidently wacked me in the face with his nose, sorry but we just dont enjoy tater tots for breakfast and alot of the food was not what we are accustomed to for breakfast coming from ny, for example biscuits and gravy, krispy kreme donuts etc. We love ohanas by far. I get a kick out of the parade and its nice to have the food come to you, we asked for seconds and our reply was filled promptly. We took pictures, the only bad comment I have was that it was so sunny, there was a glare in our pictures. I guess you would also take into consideration what park you are visiting etc. Good luck deciding.

We haven't ever done Ohana's for breakfast but the Cape May Buffet breakfast is our all time favorite character meal! For us, the food is FANTASTIC! We do it our last morning, after we check out, so it is a good way to say "Goodbye" to WDW. The only downside is Mickey isn't there. Chip, Dale and Goofy are extremely playful there though. We love it!
