Ohana's help??

We have never been to Ohana's but are going with a group of 9 a month from now. I would really like to try it and am hoping to talk the rest of the group into going.

Would it be a good spot to see Wishes if we make a late dinner reservation? I have heard people talk about this.

Is there a spot in the restaurant we would want to request to sit at to see best? What time would you think I should make the PS for if Wishes starts at 10 pm....8:30, 9:00?? We have a mix of kids from 6-19 years old, is this going to be fun for all??

I would appreciate any and all suggetions so I can make a priority seating in the next day or two. I know I'm cutting it close.....hopefully we can get something!

We only have two of us, so our seating arrangements are a little different. I know that there are 6 person tables against the windows, but not sure about larger than that. You can try asking the restaurant directly.

You may have some trouble making a PS this late, but try. I'd make a PS for 8:30 if you tend to take longer to eat, or 9 if you tend to take a shorter amount of time. You'll want to show up 45 min to an hour early if you want a windowside table, because of how large your party is. You'll have to request a window table at the front desk.

The restaurant is fun for us, and we're in our early 20s.

I agree with Forever42. The view of Wishes is okay, not the best, but a nice touch. You'll have to arrive quite early to request a window seat viewing Wishes and be willing to wait. I would make your PS for 1.5 hours early due to the size of your party, and because there is usually even a short wait for all tables there.

At one month out, you may have trouble getting a PS for a time you want, so if you even THINK you want to dine there and view Wishes, I would get on the phone today and try to get a spot. It's a popular place, and PS open up 90 days out. The dining line people will not be able to tell you about specifics of tables, but you can call the restaurant directly and ask if 9 can even be seated near the windows.

The environment is fun there, they have coconut races and hula hoop contests - plus the food is great! Very active, fun environment.

DW and I had dinner there this past week.( just returned home saturday).
heres the events for that evenings dinner..
arrived 25 minutes early for our Priority seating. waited additional 35 minutes. asked for a quiet table. got a small table right on the edge of where coconut races start.so we had 5 screaming "adults "standing at our table during most of the meal cheering on their kids in the race. THEN.. there was the hula contest. kids lined up to twirl hula hoops. the area set aside for these events should have been better designed or tables moved farther away from the "lane" . the meat skewers were over cooked ,dried out or burnt.we tried 3 different pieces and could not eat anymore. munched on some more of the appetizers and skipped the pineapple & caramel sauce "dessert".the coconut races were about to start again so we hastily paid the check and left. This had to have been the worst dining experience we have ever had anywhere which is quite surprising from all the good reports read on this board. all i can say is we wont be going to ohana's ever again.

I am going to try for PS reservations for Ohana when we visit in August. From the description I read about on various websites, it does not seem like the place to chose if you are looking for a "quiet dinner"....It seems like it is a lot more of the "interactive" type of dining experience to me....Hopefully the food will be better than described here but I fully expect an active atmosphere...
