Hey all, I have ADRs for dinner at Ohanas. I am a little ambivalent (can't use the word reservation here, too confusing!) the first reason is because we don't eat pork. DH is Jewish, so my kids are 1/2 Jewish, and we just don't eat it. I see that pork is in the appetizers and skewers. When I made my ADR I checked that I have a dietary issue, and it said to email 2 weeks prior to set something up. Has anybody else done this?

Also in regard to the food, I am iffy because we are all chocoholics and I don't know if the Bananas Foster is going to get me lashings by my family or not. I know there are lots of people who don't really get the whole chocolate thing, but for those who are real chocolate fans, is this dessert really as good as something chocolate?

Another, I read many recent reviews on Ohanas on allears.net and it seems that this restaurant is crazy busy and that service is hit or miss. Any comments here?

Finally, what time is a good time to be seated to see Wishes? It looks like Wishes will be at 8p when we go in January. I didn't really know we could see it from there but read some review where they got to see the fireworks from their table. I have a ressie at 6:35p, but could try to change it if we could see Wishes. Thanks much!!!

Can't really help with the pork thing, except to say there is plenty to eat without partaking of that.

And I too am a chocoholic....and must say you won't find a better dessert than the bread pudding at Ohana. YES I said it....no dessert, no chocolate anything will compare to how good it is.
The carmel sauce just completes it. You will not be lashed for not having chocolate at this meal.

And I would say that being sat at 6:30ish should be fine to see Wishes at 8pm. Ohana runs a bit slow, at least this is our experiences. But know that not all of the dining room can see the show. Only the window seats and you aren't guaranteed one. So prepare for that.

Have a good meal and a good trip!

Nadjalu, A thousand thanks! I was really worried about that bananas foster, but now I feel good about it! And thanks for the time info, glad to know I can do something right the first time around. :thumbsup2
