Hi All. We have an Ohana's reservation for the first night of our trip. It happens to be at 9:30pm on Thursday, September 15th. Does anyone have any experience with having a late reservation at Ohana's? Does the restaurant stop serving at 10pm? Do they rush you? Is the food quality any different at that late hour?

Sorry for all the questions, but we so want to do Ohana's, but don't want to be grossly disappointed on our first night of our trip.

I would love to hear others experiences and opinions.

I'll be straight forward and share all my Ohana experiences with you.

My first three times there were FABULOUS! One of those was a late dinner and we got to watch Wishes from our table. They dim the lights and pipe the music in.

However, our last trip to Ohana in 2009 was the good food that we knew and loved, BUT our service was just terrible. Really bad. SO disappointing. And last year in November, one of my clients had a similar bad service experience. We were ignored the ENTIRE meal by our server. I wanted another Lapu Lapu, but she never came around to ask me or to even see how we were doing. We NEVER saw her after ordering and receiving our drinks at the beginning of the meal. Oh yeah - once more - when she brought our check at the end.

So I think it's kind of hit or miss with Ohana. It was still going strong even at the late hour when we did the late dinner, though, and we didn't feel rushed during that particular experience. We only ever felt rushed once - on the last trip when everything else was going badly.

I'm sorry the previous poster had a bad experience, but I must say that we have always enjoyed our meals every time we have gone. We typically dine later in the evening, and have never had any problems with the quality of the food or the service. And no, they won't rush you. They may stop seating people at a specific time, but they continue serving them for quite some time. I remember leaving there one time around 11:00.

We had a 9:30 Reservation on our last trip in September, this is one of our fav's and always go when we do Disney, but I have to admit that the energy of the restaurant was not there for our late reservation, but if I had a choice of not going at all, I would still go

The food quality has never varied for us, the restaurant atmosphere does greatly at that hour. We have found the children's entertainment is prime at 5pm when the restaurant opens.

I personally could not dine at 'Ohanas at 9:30 pm because the meal is too heavy. I did it once and felt sick to my stomach. 7:30 pm is the latest ADR I would get for my family.

Keep checking for an earlier ADR. I was able to grab a cancelation for 5:05 pm when for days nothing was available!

We had a late reservation here in September. It was during free dining so that's part of the reason why it was so crowded, but we had to wait for a L O N G time before we were seated.

If I were you, I'd watch wishes from Poly beach and then hustle up to the host stand and check in - then go hang out and grab a drink from the bar.

Our service was a little slow, but that is the norm in my experience at Ohana. Just expect your meal to take about 1 1/2 to 2 hours and you'll be good :thumbsup2

Even w/ the wait and slow service, it is worth it IMO.

The food quality is still good and our service was ok when we went. The entertainment had stopped though and it took FOREVER to be seated. We won't do a late ADR again there.

When we went (Jan 2010) we had an early reservation, around 6, but the day of, I changed it to a 9:30, so we could see the light parade.

We watched the light parade right at the beginning where they start, then hustled up to the monorail? Anyway, we checked in with time to spare, but still waited about 20 mins to get seated. The meal was good. Lots of food. Unfortunately for us, we're used to eating around 6-ish, and by the time we actually sat down and started our main course, our hunger had already passed, and we just picked at our food.

As for entertainment, DD (6 at the time) was kept busy with activities and songs, and was even given a "light up ice cube" for free as a birthday gift from one of the bus-boys.

It was a great dinner. We plan on doing it again, just a little earlier or planning our snacks to fit it better.

Last year I was so saddened when all I could get was a 9:30 reservation at Ohana's. .It was the same day we came in and the only day we could get. As we were sitting there eating the music came on and the fairy god mother started talking in her sweet little voice and the pixie dust just flew! We watched the fireworks from our table our first night there. It was so memorable that we are doing it again and plan on making it a tradition! Have fun! We'll be there on Thursday doing it for the second year in a row! (I did have to text my coworkers and apologizing for all the ranting I did about how late the reservation was, etc etc...humbling :))
