We have an ADR at Ohana's at 7pm, for the first night of our first Disney vacation. I would like to see the fireworks from there, is that possible??
I am clueless, so any help would be appreciated!!
Thank you!:confused3

Make sure you know the time of wishes for that night. Start dinner 20-30 minutes before the start. We lucked out and were seated on the Grand Floridian side of Ohana and were able to see the fireworks. It's luck as to where you sit, but you can ask.

Worst case, you can watch from the Poly beach after or before.

Have a fun trip!!!

Thank you! I didn't know we could watch them from The Poly beach!! Since we have a 7 O'clock reservation, that would be the perfect place, after dinner!!!!
Thanks Again!
Sue

We watched 2 regular wishes an 2 Very Merry Christmas Party Wishes from Poly beach and they were awesome. There is even piped in music that they are playing inside the Magic Kingdom on the beach and dock.

Also, since this is your first time. Look for the Electric Water Parade to go past the Poly around 9 ish. You'll need to look for the specific time for this.

Have Fun!!!

DBf and I were worried about that too. We weren't sure if we would be able to see wishes from Poly. We will be at Ohana's our first night and I wasn't sure how early I should get ressies for, so we can head back to MK to watch Wishes. I didn't think they played the music.

First of all what is a Cyclone doing in Minnesoooota?
On principle alone, I shouldn't give you advice. Since the Hawkeyes won this weekend, I'm in a good mood.
:goodvibes
Anyway, if you want to watch from the restaurant, 8:30 p.m. (Depending on the time of the year, get there about 15 minutes early.) I would request a window table when you make the ressie and when you get to the podium. If you aren't a huge party, they can accommodate you. Don't let them rush you through your meal--personally, I have never had this problem, but others have--when you get your appetizers and salad be sure to mention that you need a few minutes before they bring the rest of the food. They will get the hint.
You should be wrapping up with coffee and bread pudding or paying the bill when the show starts.
That is what I would do, because you are almost guaranteed to hear the music.
If you want to watch from the beach--also cool--I would go for a 7 p.m. or so ressie. Not much later, if you need to get out quickly you will be seated late, food will late and paying take forever...if you've got extra time there is plenty to see in the lobby/shop/pool and stake out your seats. Sit more to the right--as you look at the castle--the view is obstructed by the dock.
BUT, I've never been able to hear the music outside. I'm told it does work sometimes. The fireworks are still neat to see, but I like hearing the music with it better.
OH, and I believe the EWP is at 9 p.m., don't miss that.

Thanks for the reply. I appreciate it!

SiClone is the username I used on the other forums I belong to - auto related. So in order to keep everything streamlined, I used it here as well when I signed up last January. Needless to say, I'm on this site like 3 hours a day now and don't hit the other sites at all anymore.:surfweb:

Our party has 5. Myself, DW, and 3 DS - 12, 10, and 2 (won't turn 3 until after the trip but I don't anyone will believe us because he's a big boy;) ).

I did make an ADR for 5:45 but will try to change it to later around that 7-8 range.:thumbsup2

BTW, what is EWP??? My TGM info tells me that Wishes will be at 10PM March 9-31....

Be sure to double check on the Wishes time, but my guess is that it is correct. When is Easter? Since it around busy spring break time, the parks have longer hours and the fireworks are later.
Just be sure to not to cancel before you have the new time.
:)
EWP is the Electric Water Parade. I believe they pipe the music into 'Ohana, too. But I am not for sure. It has about 10 barges that have what look like large, square Christmas dispaly lights on it. They flash like a serpent and other sea creatures then turn to flags. Cute. Not earth shattering, but the kids will like it.
(I shouldn't really harass you about your moniker...I went to Drake.)
I understand the size thing...my husband is 6'4 and our children are all tall and very verbose. At age two, I used to tell them not to talk when going through the stalls because no one would believe me!
Have a great time.
