I was just able to snag an Ohana for dinner. We have not eaten there, do you think that is a good choice? We will have a 3 year old? Is the food good?

Thanks!

Without knowing you and what you are looking for in a meal, I don't think I could tell you if you are going to like it. You may want to check the Restaurant Reviews of this place.

We love it, and it's on our list every time we go to WDW. Eat all you want, and don't be shy to ask for a second helping of their desert. It's bread pudding, ice cream and carmel sauce. It's out of this world. Your little one will enjoy it too. They have a konga line for the kids and it's a lot of fun.

We went to Ohana with our daughter when she was three, and she had a fabulous time. They have music and interactive dancing there (at least in the evenings, they did) and she loved that. She also liked to try all of the various meats and other dishes delivered to our table, but our server also offered her the option of getting one of several basic kids meal entrees to supplement her dinner. I believe they just get that delivered over from one of the other kitchens at the Poly.

I'm not 100% sure whether the alternate kids meal entree is something that is regularly offered or if it was a spur of the moment offering from our server, but we didn't inquire about getting her anything other than the food being delivered to the table, it was just spontaneously offered to us. I think they may do that because meat is sometimes a pretty hard sell to the preschool age group.

(She did choose to have some mac & cheese after the server offered her a couple of choices, but she mostly ate the regular Ohana fare, which we all liked when we went.)

We just went with a three year old and you can ask for a kids meal. There is tons and tons and tons of food. We enjoyed it!

We loved it on our first trip with the kids in '09 when they were 6 & 8. We booked again for January - one of the few repeat bookings we made. We loved the food and the kids loved the entertainment.

We also had a slightly later dinner (I think around 7:30 and had a little wait to be seated) so we got to see the light parade in the lagoon which we really enjoyed.

Just got back in mid-July. First time with grand kids!! While we always love it - out 2 year old grand daughter thought it was great too. The glowing "Tink" in her cup won her over. Looking forward to June 11th. Never again in July!!

We loved it last year went we went and I booked again for this year!! It was the one place my DH requested to go back to.

I agree with everyone else so far. We love 'Ohana and it is a great place for kids.

I have heard they do some fun activities for kids like coconut races or something. My friend said her child had child menu choices. When is your ADR? I am going 8/22 for 9 nights and could not get an Ohana except for 9:55. It's not the end of the world for us because we got everythingelse we wanted. Have a great time!

Ours is for September 30th.

We enjoy Ohana, and it's probably good for your 3-year-old.:thumbsup2

The kids will love it, the dinner was GROSS! The beef was fatty, the turkey was dry, and the shrimp were mushy. I could have gotten frozen dumplings, and box of noodles and gotten the same taste. They rush the coures out, you barely have one bite in and they are bringing out another plate. By far the worst meal we had a vacation. I know I am in the minority here, and I am not a fussy eater. I was so disappointed in this place.

We've always enjoyed Ohana - food has always been good. Our only negative experience was feeling ignored and rushed the one time, but our other visits there have been great! We're not letting ONE bad time out-weigh all the other good times! Never had a problem with the food. Maybe it was an off-night for the restaurant when the PP was there.

This will be the first trip we have consciously chosen *not* to eat at 'Ohana - just dropped our Sept ADR. But, only because we've done it several times now (and I agree, if nothing else, that dessert alone could sustain me!) and wanted to try Via Napoli. When we got that, we dropped 'Ohana.

My kids (6 & 3 on our last dinner there) don't really care for the food, but they enjoy it so much they don't care. Me . . . if they're happy, then I get to enjoy myself too so, it works for me! :thumbsup2

Ohana is one of our "must do" restaurants on every trip. Never had a bad experience there.
