I have found the menu for the above for dinner .......... but am i right in saying you get some form of entertainment.

Personal reviews on Ohana for dinner please.

It is a dinner show! You get food which is ok but not great but not bad. The show is a story about a girl coming home from the city. There is authentic dancing, fire sticks etc., A chance for birthdays to dance and kids to join in. It's a quite sweet really.

We're going to do Hoop de Doo next time......

mickeyforpresident, I think you are thinking of the Polynesian Luau.

'Ohana is not a dinner show, although there is some stuff for the kids including limbo and a mini parade around the restaurant whre they give the kids coconuts and other things to bang, clatter and generally make a noise. There is also a guy who plays a kind of Hawaiian guitar and sings (not sure what it's called but it's like a Ukelele ;))

We went there in October and I expected not to enjoy it much since I am quite a fussy eater but I absolutely loved it. It was probably one of my favourite meals of the trip and definitely one fo the best onsite meals we've had.

We love Ohanas - we go every trip!

The food is great - and there is so much of it - make sure you go hungry!

This is a really popular place, so make sure you get an ADR early on, you can also watch the Wishes fireworks from the restaurant if you time it well (I would book an ADR 1.5-1 hour before Wishes is scheduled).

One of our very favourite places to eat, we've been loads of times and it never fails to disappoint! There's a guy who sings and plays the Ukelele, he also parades the kids round with various noise makers and has them doing the Hula. if anyone is celebrating a birthday he has them stand up and everyone sings happy birthday to them or if there are any couples celebrating an anniversary he has them dance together, it's really cute!

Ohanas is on our list again for this August. Not impressed with the entertainment 5-10 year olds might enjoy but the food was really good, Plus a view of the Castle from where we were sat in the window.
Only took a pic of the Shrimp but there was also beef and chicken. Brought around on large skewers, as much as you want.

We like Ohana for dinner and breakfast but dinner would be much better without the 'singer' ;)

Be warned though, the food comes out very fast. all the courses are served within minutes of each other.
I loved it loads, esp the shrimp :lovestruc but im hoping next time i can get it slowed down a bit.

Ohana's is on my list of resturants we might want to try, but has anyone any info about the children's meals? Do they have their own seperate menu or can they have things from the normal menu? :confused3

With a DD (8) who will eat virtually anything (so would probably like the adult menu!) and a DS (7) who can be pretty fussy (pasta and pizza lover...might be best for us to go to Italy! :lmao:) I need to cover all bases iyswim

I wasn't sure if my DS would like it so we ordered kids' meals (burgers and chicken strips with fries) which were just like standard CS meals. The food was great, though, and all the kids got plenty to eat.

Thanks Joh, DS would probably manage chicken strips and fries (now that he's decided chips/fries are edible...took him over 6 years!!):thumbsup2 but I think DD would prefer the adult food, so was wondering if you can order a children's portion of the adult food?

You don't order, they just bring it all in dishes to help yourself, take as much or as little as you like. Meat keeps coming around until you say you don't want anymore.

So we can order a children's meal for DD and she could just eat what they bring to the table for the adults? Sorry I know I'm being thick here

'Family dining' style meals are like buffets, you pay the price based on age.

We found the food and service surprisingly good, although of all our TS meals that week we had the longest wait for our ADR. The 'entertainment' was OK but pretty childish - too much so for DS 12, and just about OK for DD 10.
I have to say though, that I found the theming of the place, and the Poly as a whole, quite impressive. I'm lucky enough to have been to Hawaii and it really is quite authentic, in a Hawaiian 'tourist kitch' sort of way! So if you haven't been I'd recommend it.

Sounds as if it will be fine for our two as they will be 8 & 7 when we go.:)

I have to admit that one of the reasons I fancy trying Ohana's is that I've read some good reports about the vegetarian food on offer (if you let them know in advance of your special dietary needs). While DD, DS and I are out and out carnivores, DP is a vegetarian and he always gets the short straw in restaurants with very little choice on the menus :sad2: It would be nice if he got a "special meal" for once without us all having to suffer in a vegetarian restaurant! ;)

You can do exactly that. As Wayne says, you will pay the child's buffet price for the children but you can ask your server to bring something else for them such as burger or chicken nuggets. They can also eat what is served to the table for the adults. It's as much as you can eat anyway so they really don't mind. When we went, Daniel had chicken nuggets and fries, gave his fries to me as he doesn't really like them and he at eht enuggets, some of the noodles, some salad and some of the meats.

Sounds perfect....mix and match and try something new without worrying that they won't like anything at all :yay: Oh and DS loves noodles so those should go down well with him :)
