This is my 19th trip to Disney coming up and I've never eaten at Ohana.... we ate at Kona for the first time last August and loved it. We saw Ohana of course next to Kona and thought maybe next time....

Well, I get to make my ADR's this upcoming weekend and I'm torn. DH LOVED Kona and would like to go back but was willing to try Ohana if it was as good as people used to rave.

I used to see amazing reviews but then recently I understand there was a menu change and I know I've seen more negative reviews than anything lately.

Should we just stick with Kona then?

Our other ADR's (I'm HOPING) will be:
Le Cellier
Cape May Dinner one night and breakfast on departure day (staying at the BC)
Chef Mickey's
Tusker House lunch
CRT breakfast

We are trying Ohana for the first time in April BECAUSE of the menu change, it appeals much more to me now then before. We also loved Kona but DH and I are excited to try something different

We really liked Kona but our kids preferred Ohana.
I think you should try Ohana.:)

I hear that Ohana can be very loud and "chaotic" so keep that in mind when you're making your decision. Our party of 9 is eating there and we are very excited about it - but we have 5 children in our group under the age of 8 so the noise will be a norm for us. :) Anyhoo, that's just my two-cents. I say if you're looking for a relaxing meal at the end of a long day, this probably isn't it.

Nah-we'll have our 8 yr old and 5 yr old DD's with us... the noisier, the better! :rotfl:

We're trying O'Hana for the first time in April as well. I love reading these boards because it came highly recommended. We're doing the character breakfast instead of dinner but we'll probably try dinner on a trip in the future. We tried to get into Chef Mickey's for breakfast and it was impossible and I was making ADR's almost 120 days out! We had no problem getting ADR's for O'Hana. I can't wait as I've never actually stepped foot in the Poly either. Just passed by it on the monorail.

If you have kids, then I definitely think you should give it a try!!! Looks like a BLAST for families!!!!

Hey hey hey, I gotta say, 'Ohana is a YAY for me all the way!

We too are going to try Ohana for the first time next month. I am not sure if it is really going to be what we like in a restaurant, but want to try it out. The noise won't bother us. We have had reservations 3 separate times but have never made it, and when they took out the shrimp on the skewers that pretty much ended it for us. Now that it is back on the menu, we are going to try!

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 from me!

My DD10 LOVES this place. It is VERY noisy, but kids love it. The 23rd for dinner will be our 3rd time there.

'Ohana is always a "must do" for us. As a matter of fact, it's the first night tradition. You will LOVE IT!

We did it last spring and loved it! Our waiter was a little strange, but we had fun with Lipoa and the live entertainment. The food was good from what I ate, but I wasn't feeling well that night so I did not eat as much as the others, but they really liked it and want to go back!

We are trying O'hana for the first time this April as well. We are trying it for breakfast. Could not get into Chef Mickey's. I have heard great things about both on these boards. Thank y'all so much for your input. DH and I cannot wait to go. Thanks again.

Ohana is always our cusp restaurant. ITs always on the cusp of being added or taken off!

DH and I tried ohana for the first time in Dec. and it was wonderful. We really enjoyed it. I will be taking my DSis there this Dec. Can't wait.

We ate there last Friday night (2/8) and loved it. We were not rushed at all. We were there about 90 minutes. My dd loved the place. Had great service and enjoyed the food.
