We will be staying at the Poly over labor day week and were wondering if it is possible to eat at Ohana without a res. If so, what would be the best time period to try (early? late?). Thanks.

I have been trying to get a res for a couple of weeks now. Just wondering if it was possible if I'm not able to get one.

I guess anything is possible, but I wouldn't count on being able to get seated without an ADR :sad2:. It's not only during a holiday weekend, but it's also free dining.....not to mention Ohana is a very popular restaurant and isn't the easiest place to get an ADR . You can try the walk up method as you may get lucky and get in, but I would also be prepared to get turned away :rolleyes1. Good luck.

I would not try without an ADR. Any time I've eaten at Ohana they have been packed and are turning walk ups away as they have nothing available for the entire evening.

If you don't get one in advance, wouldn't hurt to try calling while your there...even the day you want to go...just in case there's a late cancellation. It's been known to happen! Good luck.
:thumbsup2

I would keep trying to get an ADR even after you've arrived. People do chande their plans after arriving, especially after spending all day at a park. We have cancelled, and made, ADRs while there and did pretty well. (However, I'm not talkling about the really hard to secure places, like CRT)

Good luck. We'll be there the same time as you.

I wouldn't count on it at all. I've gone in Nov and even with an ADR, had to wait 20 minutes. There were lots of people with ADR's waiting and they were turning away those without them.

Ohana is very very popular. On a holiday weekend during free dining I would say it is HIGHLY unlikely you can get seated without an ADR. I think you would even have trouble getting an ADR for that time now.:sad2: As PPs said I would definately continue to call to get an ADR as people cancel all the time. But I would have a back up plan in place. :goodvibes

I've also been trying to get O'hana for our trip in September with no luck. I will say though that last year I wasn't able to get a ressie for LeCellier before we left. Once we arrived I kept checking with concierge to see if there were any cancelations and it payed off. I scored a reservation the day before we were to be at Epcot. This was also during free dining. I might be doing the same thing for Ohana this year.

lol we can't get a seating for a party of five in November till around 9PMand that's almost 100 days out! It's truly ridiculous now.

My only suggestion, and it's a huge "long shot," is walking up late and getting a last seating. It's possible but not probable.

If what you are asking is do they hold tables for walk ups - they do not. In fact, Disney typically overbooks their restaurants knowing that some people won't show. Which means in order to get a walk up at a booked restaurant, you have to be lucky enough the MORE people didn't bother to show up than Disney expected. That happens, but it isn't likely.

I would suggest the opposite, but what do I know? :p If you're already at Poly, it wouldn't hurt to try to walk-up about 30 min. prior to opening to see if they can fit you in. It seems more people are able to walk-in at opening than any other time. I would definitely have a backup plan though. Odds are against you getting in as a walk-up.

Call, call, call! :thumbsup2 I've been calling about three times a day for weeks for a September ressie and just got it today! It was the only time available the whole week, but that was all I needed! It may take some phone work, but with frequent calling, I've been able to get all of the ADRs I've wanted at prime spots and good times during free dining. Good Luck!

If you weren't going during free dining, then I'd say you have a shot. I stupidly canceled BOTH Ohana reservations that I had booked for our honeymoon due to bad reviews. Once we got down there, though, DH insisted we try to get in one night. (Since we were staying at the Poly, he felt it was just wrong not to eat there. ;) ) One night we walked down there and asked very nicely if they were accepting walk-ups. The host told us if we were willing to wait 1.5 hours, he could squeeze us in. So we waited and I think we got our table a little more than an hour later. So it CAN be done.

I think in your case, though, free dining is working against you. Not to mention the whole holiday weekend thing. Still, some people do double book ADR's, particularly during free dining, so maybe there will be some no shows and you will get lucky. :goodvibes

Oh and I will say that I agree with everyone else, you should definitely try to call as much as possible and see if something opens up. That is your better bet.

:goodvibes When we were there in October, we really wanted to eat at Ohana's and could not get a reservation. We got a reservation at Kona for dinner at 5 or 5:30...cant exactly remember. We got to the Poly early and decided to go a and get a drink at the bar outside of Ohana's. Just out of curiosity we asked the hostess at Ohana's how long the wait was. She said 30 min. We said ok and gave her our name. We walked over to Kona's cancelled our resies and walked back and in less then 10 min, we were seated at Ohanas. Maybe we were lucky or maybe someone had just cancelled a reservation...I don't know but Ohana;s was wonderful:goodvibes

I'd say you have a better chance with breakfast vs. dinner. We ate there for both meals last week, and while breakfast was only about 2/3 full, dinner was PACKED to the gills with a fairly long wait for a table...and that was for those of us WITH ADRs. Good luck!
