'Ohana & Wishes

[Windsor Princesses]

I was wondering what time is the best time to have a reservation at 'Ohana to be able to view the fireworks (hopefully from one of their windows)? I know that this is practically impossible to plan out, but for those of you that have successfully done it what did your reservations look like, and how long did you have to wait to get a castle view seat?
I've been trying to plan this out for years and would really love to be able to do it for a future trip.

We did a 6:45 ressie for 8 p.m. Wishes and it worked out great. We got seated after 7, so we were just waiting on dessert when the fireworks began. I would think a reservation for about an hour before Wishes would be ideal.

On our last vacation, we had a 7:20 ADR. Wishes began at 8:00, in the middle of the meal. We couldn't have timed it better if we had tried. We were in a large group of 20, and we were seated at a long table right in front of the fire pit.

Thanks for the info! When I'm planning ADRs for future trips I'll try my best to get a reservation around that time. How did you manage to get a table for 20 there?!!? Oh my goodness!​

Be aware that less than 1/3 of the tables at 'Ohana have a view of the castle, and not even 1/4 of the seating is at a window. Even those who do have a window view may find the trees outside the restaurant block some or most of the view.

Schedule your reservation for not more than 1 1/4 hours before wishes for the best chance of seeing the show. You'll have more luck getting a window table if you are a party of 2 or 4.

The large party tables are in the middle of the room. The smaller party tables are around the perimeter next to the windows. Thus, a reservation for 4 or less is more likely to end up by the windows.

If you can't get the reservations you want, you could try to get a reservation so that you would be done dinner in time for the fireworks and watch them from the beach at the Poly. We did that one night and it worked out great and we could see the fireworks really good.

I find that the glare from inside as well as trees can hamper the view. The boat dock has benches right along the water and offer a great place for wishes. Eat dinner and take a stroll out on the dock. We do this every trip. This year we are staying at the Poly with a TPV so we have dinner at 750PM for a 1000PM wishes which we can watch from the balcony. I cannot wait!

We did the early ADR and watched from the Poly beach earlier this month. Our ADR was at 8:00. We were done with dinner a little after 9:00. We wandered a few of the gift shops and made our way to the beach around 9:30. We found a group of unoccupied lounge chairs and watched the fireworks from there.
