My DS(3) and I are taking a guys only trip in a few weeks. We've already got one character meal reservation at Garden Grill, but I think we'll try to get a late character breakfast for our departure day. Does anyone have any thoughts about 'Ohana vs. Chef Mickey's? Thanks!

Either one should be a lot of fun. We did the Ohana breakfast last year. We did Chef Mickey for dinner. This year, we are reversing them.

Here's the deciding factor. Ohana had Lilo & Stich, Mickey and Pluto. Chef Mickey had Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Chip & Dale, and I think either Minnie or Pluto, but I'm not sure. That was for dinner, at any rate. Is your child a fan of Lilo & Stich? If not, I would consider Chef Mickey. Stich tried to steal DD6's Ariel doll. She loved it, but she's six.

Also, Ohana is serfed family style, and Chef Mickey is a buffet. Probably more choices at Mickey, but some people have issues about buffets.

We went to a late seating of at chef mickey in may. Be careful with the later times, we had to wait a long time, even with ADR. Someone said that the later ADRs (I think ours was around 9:00) are just thrown in with the walk ups...meaning, no advantage for getting an ADR. Also, we found Chef Mickey to be very chaotic. Food was good but buffet lines were long and unorganized. Also, it was both DW and myself so someone could stay with DS(2) while the other one was in line. Because of the lines and chaos, I'm not sure I would have been able to get through the line with a young child with me. Never ate at Ohanas but if it is family style, it might work out better for you.

Also, good choice on Garden Grill. Always our favorite restaurant.

They are both great fun. I have seen the characters listed above plus Minnie at each of the breakfasts. I agree that if your son is a Stitch fan I would go with Ohana if not Chef Mickey.

depends on the characters your son prefers. I like Ohana for the whole atmosphere of the restaurant and the resort...contemporary isn't as pretty imo...but he might like watching the monorail too!
