Hi All,
Coming up in just a week (YAY!!!!!!), I have an ADR/FP+ situation I'm a little worried about and I'd like opinions. I've seen some posts lately that made me question it.
I have an ADR at 'Ohana at 8:15 and a FP+ for Wishes....9:45-9:55. Is this too tight?
Do you think I can make it through dinner and back to the hub in that timeframe?

Without totally rearranging.....would it help to show up at 'Ohana 15 or 30 minutes early?

Before some folks suggest it, let me say I have watched Wishes from the beach at the Poly before and, while I liked it, I miss the music too much so I don't want to repeat that.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

If you get into 'Ohana on time, I think it could all work out. You would have an hour for dinner and then a half hour for transportation/bag check/getting to the FP+ location.

I would probably plan to do try, acknowledging that it might not work out, but I would also keep watching for a slightly earlier reservation time.

Being seated early or on time at 'Ohana isn't impossible, but it's very, very unlikely. The stars would have to align perfectly for you to make it. Best Cas scenario: You're seated at 8:15, you rush through dinner and get out at 9:00, take the monorail and get to MK by 9:15, get through bag check, enter the park, walk through the crowd, and make it to the viewing area by 9:45. Any delay and you will not make it.

Have you considered watching from the TTC? It's a good view and they pipe the music in.

Personally, I would get to Ohana 30-60 mins early - in the hopes of getting seated early and on my way.
Going early should be fairly painless - because we wanna check out the new Poly anyway. But I agree that it may not get us in early.
And other ADRs for O have been consistently unavailable for that day....so not much hope there, I think.

Keep trying for an earlier reservation. Sounds like folks are having some success with the Disney Dining Scout app to help with situations like this.

Ohana is always crazy booked up. But i do find I typically get seated early when I go early. Unless I have a lot of plans beforehand, I don't mind going early and taking the chance. Plus, no matter what time of the evening, I have always had at least a 15-20 min wait for a reservation anyway.

What do you want to check out - I may get flamed but I'm constantly intrigued by people resort hopping. My interest is further piqued by th fact I'm in the EXACT SAME situation as you...

Since our last visit in 2013, The Poly has undergone a moderate level of transformation, especially to the lobby. I always loved it before and hope I still do. I'd like to wander around the lobby and pool areas and see what's done and whats still in progress.
I have always been a huge fan of the theming there. (That's a ukulele I'm playing in my profile pic. :-))
But staying there has been out of reach cost-wise. Not willing to make the short stay the cost would require.
So wandering is what we've got at the moment!

When we showed up early to ADR's, we were always told to come back 15 mins before our time because they wouldn't check us in before then.

Last year we overestimated our abilities to stay out late with a 2-year-old (or perhaps overestimated her ability to nap in the stroller) and by 7 o'clock we realized our 8:45 reservation was a bad idea. I went in while hubby tried to get the little one to nap in the car...I explained the situation to the host and he said he'd do his best but not to get our hopes up. We were seated within about 30 minutes which was an hour and 15 minutes before our reservation. You'll have to sit around a bit but it's not impossible to be seated early!

Since you mentioned this it occurred to me the new bar has opened as well -we may try the same approach - I plan to continue Relentlessly stalking the cancellations board but will plan to arrive early, have a drink in the tiki bar & enjoy the ambiance while *hopefully* snagging an early seating.

I heard someone suggest on another thread that you could tell the servers you want to settle the bill early....even before done eating....so that you can just jet when finished. This will probably work for us on free dining so I may consider it.
I don't like the idea of rushing out of Ohana as it is a family favorite, but it's all about timing!
And yes....that new tiki bar....like Bali H'ai, it calls me. :-)
