Can anyone tell me if my 8:20 PS at O'Hana's for our family gathering of 15 is too late of a time for there to be all the races, hoola hooping and watching the fireworks????
Also, when making the PS, they switched me to group sales because of our crowd of 15 (1 highchair), and then said if we did not cancel 24 hours in advance there would be a $10 charge per person - but they never got any info from me; credit card, etc. - what is that about???
We had a 7.45pm booking for Ohana over Christmas. We were seated around 8.15pm. We were in the restaurant for over an hour and all the hoopla, dancing etc was still in full swing.
If you wish to view the fireworks from the restaurant (personally we prefer the beach) and they are at 9pm that night, then you will be OK, even if you are seated late. You wont be guaranteed a window table though (and with such a big group, that is unlikely) so you may have to stand or move to the windows to see Wishes.
Im surprised that Group Sales didnt take a credit card...they usually do, maybe it was an oversight. It would still be prudent to cancel before 24 hours though so they can make space for other guests.
You should be fine with that seating. We had a 8:15p last trip and it was perfect. Since we were only a party of 3 we had perfect window seating. We were able to experience the races, the dancing and best of all the fireworks and then even the EWP!! It was wonderful!!! This was my best dinner experience ever and we will never forget it!
Please be sure to let us know how your dinner goes, would love to hear all about it!
We had an 8:30p PS last night. We were seated at about 8:35pm. About 5 minutes after we were seated, the hoola hoop "contest" started. We found it a bit loud and this girl nearly kept whacking my boyfriend with her hoola hoop. We saw the fireworks and as we were eating out pineapple, they had the coconut races. That we enjoyed watching.

Did you see the Electrical Water Pageant, too? I wonder how easy it is to access Poly's beach after wishes and dinner? Unless, you can see from dining room. TIA for any information.
we were offered an early seating, but my son and wife will not get there until about 6:30....we wanted a 7 PS, but for our large group 8:20 was the best they could do other than the 1st seating, should we have taken it anyway?
Ok...I do not care to be there for the fireworks, but how do they work the hula - hoop and other things? Every hour during dinner? We have a pretty early PS - like 5:50 I think?
