'Ohana reservations

I tried making reservations at 'Ohana's for next Friday, but was told that they were booked solid. Has anyone ever not been able to get reservations at this restaurant, but called back later in the week and was able to get one due to cancelations. I'm just wondering if it's worth my time to keep calling them back and checking.

I do have backup reservations at Kona Cafe. I love their breakfasts, but I've never had dinner there.

I would keep calling back. People cancel all the time due to the changing of their mind and plans.

It never hurts to keep trying, people change plans all the time. Good luck. :wizard:

Thanks for the encouragement! I know it sounds silly, but I have this image of some cast member at the call center rolling their eyes when they find out I'm calling yet again to find out if anyone has canceled for 'Ohana.

If you are willing to eat early try arriving right at 5 and seeing if they can seat you. It seems like they don't start getting really busy till around 6 or so. We'll be there on next Wednesday, but have learned to always book early. Seems like the word is getting out that this is a great place to eat.

We did Ohana's breakfast at the last minute. We extended our stay and needed three reservations. We tried as soon as we knew we were going to stay extra nights. We tried only once and found that Ohana's was filled. We still wanted to visit the Poly so we hopped over to see the resort. While there we decided to ask a desk clerk if there were any openings. Well, there were tons of openings! I don't know why for the clerk there were so many openings but when we called CRO they were completely filled. Anyway, don't give up hope people are always cancelling.

I am currently in the process of fine tuning my days and times for ADRs.
For the past week or so I have called up to 10 times per day (thank God for the good cell plan) and I don't believe I have ever gotten the same person to check reservations.

We leave for DW in 5 days and so far I have gotten everything that I wanted
except for the time for one restaurant. People do seem to cancel--I was afraid that a large # of people would just not show up since there was no penalty (except for CRT or FDP--credit card necessary to hold ressys).

Keep calling back and don't worry about who is taking the call. Most of the
reservationists seem really happy and friendly--even if it was a repeat call--I don't think that they care.

Another point--try the weekends. Most of the cancellations I have picked up seem to have "appeared" over Saturday/Sunday. I guess people tend to do more planning than.

Good luck

Happened to me with Le Cellier dinner. When I called initially, they were booked solid for the week I wanted. I called back at the 2-month mark, and they had an opening. I took it.
