Ohana Question

Do they still do the coconut races and the hula hoop contests for the kids? Last time we ate there was in 2000 - DS(13), who was then 7, had a lot of fun. DS(7) was only 18 mos old then, so I would love for him to be able to do it this time. Thanks!

yes, they still do.

The last time we went in 2004 they still had both of those games! It was really fun for my younger sisters.

We ate at Ohanas during Christmas week and they still had the races and dances on. Although we don't have kids it was great to see so many of them having a great time during our meal.

My parents were there last friday and mentioned that they had activities for the kids.

Is breakfast/lunch/dinner all character dining?

If not are the activities only at the character dining?

We were there for Dinner and they had them and no characters... Not sure if they have them at breakfast though when the characters are there

I don'r know if you are going during the busy season but.... my kids were in tears because of the races! They didn't have enough brooms for all the kids and it was very disorganized! Personally, I think they should do a race for the "older" kids and another for the little ones. Some of the contestants were about 14 years old! and they practically trampled my toddler! They did try to make it harder for the older ones by having them turn their brooms around- when the hula hoopla started, once again, since my kids are not aggressive- they missed out on getting any. After the contest, another mom noticed my teary eyed daughter and gave her son's hoop to her- but the gummi worms were being handed out and my daughter knew the thing was over. Basically, just know that if you want your child to participate- get them the broom or hoop yourself (and fast) and then watch them closely!
