Ohana pulling a Tusker House?

I've been searching (and called) for a dinner (5:30) ADR for 'Ohana for 12/16 (5 Guest) and find zip.

... but what I find strange is that I have performed ALOT of spot checks for availability (1 Guest, breakfast or dinner) from Late Nov through December and find nothing.

Anybody else having this problem? Could it be like Tusker House and the inventory is simply not released?

The CM could only say that it was popular. Which I realize is true but something just doesn't seem right.

Thanks guys.

'Ohana is the single most popular dinner right now, so it's not surprising that there is no availability for Dec as it's been bookable for the past 3 months.

Also, try spot checking for 2, since the dining system has issues with odd numbers and especially singles.

Honestly, I'm not surprised. 'Ohana has become the most difficult reservation to get, especially earlier in the evening. People have been booking December reservations since June so it's not surprising that a 5:30 on Dec. 16 isn't available.

I'm not sure if you're looking for a res for 5 or 1 or trying to add 1 more person onto a res since you mention looking for both. Sometimes the system is more accomodating with even numbers so you could look for 6 or 2. Also you could expand your dates and try for something other than just Dec. 16.

I think Tusker House was a different situation. They've just announced that it's becoming a character lunch and discontinuing the Nemo package as of Dec 4 so I think they didn't make the Dec dates available until they could make that announcement.

Thanks Guys...

Cafeen, good idea, you are right about the Even number bug. I had not tried that.

PurpleFigment, yes, ultimately TH turned out to be due to retooling lunch (out with Nemo, in with characters) but for months, I was unable to book in December. Then I was unable to book online and had to call to finally get the ADR.

I've had my ADR set in stone for about a month but based on some feedback from my better half, I decided to move from Kona to 'Ohana our last night. If it doesn't happen, then no biggie but (of course) now it's become my newest WDW planning compulsion

Again, thank you guys.

Just to give you a frame of reference for 'Ohana - we had ADRs on 9/15/2011 for 5:05. Got to the Poly a little early (4:30) to enjoy the lobby, and saw the line to check in had already formed. We waited in a line 60 people deep to check in for our ADR - the other side of the line (walk ups) was a 2 hour wait - at 4:45, when they started taking check ins for ADRs. It is a very VERY popular restaurant. and this was during a low crowd week.
