We are considering dinner at both Ohana and WCC during our December stay. The pros/cons of each that I have come up with include:

Ohana
+ Fun atmosphere for kids
+ Polynesian menu appealing to adults
+ Can possibly catch Wishes during dinner
+ Can use monorail from Contemporary to get there
- Food choices for kids are not good

Whispering Canyon
+ Fun atmosphere for kids (we are ok if it is not over the top like it used to be)
+ All you can eat skillet appealing for adults. Corn on cob and corn bread will also be enjoyed by kids.
+ Get to see the Wilderness Lodge Christmas decorations
+ Can easily reach WL via boat from Contemporary
+ Kids menu available with appealing choices for kids
- Likely can't see Wishes
- Antics may be annoying to DH and Dmom

If anyone else has other pros/cons we haven't considered, please share them. We would also like to hear your experiences and/or preferences between these two restaurants. We can only go to one or the other.

Thanks!

We like both restraunts but we would choose 'Ohana over WCC pretty much anytime. 'Ohana is one of our favorite places to eat at Disney.

Either way you can't go wrong. We ate at both last summer when we were at WDW. I would say that if your kids are school age they may like the atmosphere at WCC a little better. I wish it was my family that was going, Enjoy.

You can order hot dogs, or chicken strips at 'Ohana for the kids. I don't know if you want to pay that kind of price for a Hot Dog or chicken strips, because they still charge you for a kids price for 'Ohana.

Our server saw that my kids were not eating much and offered this to them with out even asking me first. I didn't want them to have a hot dog or chicken strips, they have been eating that non stop while we were there. She brought them out hot dogs.

I would go with 'Ohanas, great food that you can't just get anywhere else.

We ate at WCC on July 16 and 'Ohana on July 15.

We much preferred 'Ohana for both food and atmosphere. My DD liked the games at 'Ohana, DH and I LOVED the food so much, and my two youngest kids also got their regular kids' meals from Kona next door.

Since you say you won't mind if the antics are toned down now at WCC, I'll comment more on food there. It's not nearly as good in my opinion, and for once, all 3 kids and DH and I agree on this. We all decided there's no need to go back there as it's "nothing special." Many people like the food at WCC, but we really found it just okay--not terrible, but not anything unique. 'Ohana is in a different category entirely.

At least on the nights we were there, kids' activities were much more involved at 'Ohana. They had hula lessons, the limbo, a conga line, lots of singing. All WCC had was stick pony races. The kids also got leis at 'Ohana but just a piece of paper from the stick pony ride at WCC.
