I have 2 reservations right now 1900 at 7:30 and Ohana at 8:30 on the morning that we leave for a cruise. It will be me, dh, and twin daughters who will have turned 7 the day before staying at GF. I’m having a hard time choosing because they love Mary Poppins and LILO and stitch. Which one is better in terms of food and experience. Thanks!

I prefer 1900 park fare, but I would opt for Ohana in this case because 7.30 would be a bit early. You may be stuck with time to kill. Unless you are naturally early risers anyway I'd pick the extra hour of sleep.

I haven't tried 1900 park fare but I love love love 'Ohana for breakfast! The whole ambiance is so nice!

You don't want to miss your bus because the monorail is down between the resorts. Stay with Park Fare, and be prepared to leave early if you have an early pickup and you are sat late for breakfast. Disney often runs late on character meal times (we waited 45 minutes past our rezzie time at 1900 Park Fare)

Doubt there would be much delay in the Monorail system other than the park crowds trying to head over. Even if that happened the path along the lake between the Poly and GF might be welcomed after a big breakfast.

I would also pick Ohana. You will have more typical breakfast everyday on the ship so the Polynesian flavors might be a nice change. Unless you would not be interested. Time wise you should be fine as long as you get to Ohana on time and don’t get any delays.

Since you're staying at the Grand and using Disney transportation, eat at 1900 Park Fare.

It will give you plenty of time to enjoy breakfast and walk around the resort before getting picked up to go on the cruise.

If you choose Ohana, here's the worst case: You find out the night before that your cruise pickup time is 1030. Meaning, you need to be at the Grand by 10 or 1015. So that means you'll have to eat and be paid in an hour or less at Ohana (assuming you were seated on time) in order to maybe have enough time to get back. Now, imagine that the monorail breaks down, or that there is an issue preventing boat service, and now you're stranded at the Poly, scrambling to get an uber or taxi back to the Grand. Too many risk factors if you ask me.

I still vote for 1900 Park Fare even though it was the worst meal (service wise) of our last-December Trip. The food was OK for dinner, but the characters ( (Lady Tremaine and Stepsisters) took a long time to make their rounds. I imagine for breakfast the food will be better and character interactions will be better since there are more of them.

I'll always vote for the breakfast that's inside your actual hotel, to cut down on any possible transportation delays or mishaps. 1900 Park Fare will create a stress-free morning, and it's a great breakfast experience.

Uber? Taxi? You are joking right? The boat? If you walk to catch the boat to the GF you will have walked halfway to the resort, on the same path. It is literally a five - ten minute walk along the lakeshore path.

My bad. Was thinking there was no walkway, but was on my mind was the lack of a pathway from GF to Magic Kingdom.

I still think 1900 PF is a better option for OP, though.

Have they changed the breakfast at Ohana to make it polynesian? It was scrambled eggs and sausage when we went.

I have done 1900 Park Fare once and the buffet is pretty good. But, I have done 'Ohana twice. I just love the atmosphere there more. I like the family style breakfast too. They are both good so I would choose whichever one you think will be better for your peace of mind for transportation.

I think it’s six of one and half dozen of the other since 1900 PF doesn’t start breakfast until 8am, while Ohana is at least thirty minutes before that. So, any advantage you would gain by eating at your own resort would be equivalent to the walk to and from the Polynesian if you had the earliest seating there. I say decide which characters you’d most like to see and go with that :).

If 1900 PF is at 7:30am, then you won't be seated too late, since that would be the first seating, I believe. Although, I thought breakfast there started at 8am. Ohana opens at 7:30am, but that's only 30 minutes extra time. Do PF. It's our favorite. It has a wider variety of food and great characters. You don't want to hassle with getting back to GF if you are running late.

No, the breakfast is more typical breakfast then true Polynesian. It not like Tonga Toast is a choice since that is at Kona Cafe but the variety is just different enough. The ham with pineapple compote, pineapple/coconut bread and slightly different potatoes (not the ore-ida hash brown patties) create a just slight difference from the cruise. And sure they both have POG juice but on the ship the self serve dispenser is not always spot on so, the juice seems better at Ohana. The difference are subtle but the choices at 1900 are going to be closer to what you will seeing for the next 3,4, or 7 days on the ship.

Since there is not much different in logistics, and both are character breakfasts i’m just thinking a little variety might be nice.

Thanks everyone! I wonder if I can wait until I find out what time our pick up is. When would we find this out? I’m a little hesitant about a buffet character meal does not seem relaxing to me.
