'Ohana on a MVMCP night

Booked 7:15 at 'Ohana the night of MVMCP
How long does dinner usually take at 'Ohana?
Will this really cut into party time, or can we balance both?

Not a good idea considering how expensive MVMCP tickets are and how much there is to do at MVMCP. I would not plan on dinner at 7:15 at 'Ohana. The party starts at 7 and you would miss more than 2 hours of the party. There will be a lot of party activities including the parade, fireworks, shows, meet and greets with some characters who don't appear in the park during the day and milk and hot chocolate to enjoy. You definitely won't be able to do very much if you keep the 7:15 reservation.

I would try for a 4:30 or 5 'Ohana reservation, or a CS dinner in the park before the party starts.

The party starts at 7.

By 7:15 Ohana will most likely be behind. I would not expect to be seated at 7:15, but rather 7:30 or later. Even if you were seated at 7:15, plan dinner to take at LEAST an hour (8:15) and then you have to get back to MK. This would put you at entering for the party at 8:30-8:45 depending on your luck with transportation.

I would get a different meal. That is wasting WAY too much time of the party.

Ohana (or any TS) can take a while. I would definitely book it on a different night or go to a different Party. There is too much to see and do at the Parties to come late IMO.

We like to go to MK before the Party starts so that we can make the most of our time once the Party starts.

I definitely agree with all posters above. You will miss close to half of the party if you do Ohana on the same night....

If you have an ADR at 'Ohana at 7:15 p.m., you probably won't get over to MK and into the party until at least 9:15 p.m. There's no way I would spend that kind of money on the party and waste that much time at a late ADR.

Last year when I did, I made reservation for 5:30PM (it was the earliest I could make it for). That gave me enough time to eat and get back to the MK by 7PM. FYI - I had already picked up my wrist band prior to going to dinner. That way all I had to do is walk in.

I have to agree with all - for the cost that you pay for the party, it would be better not to miss any of it.

I like the idea of picking up the wrist band as early as I can before dinner, thanks for that suggestion. We are going to the party to meet up with family, but yes arriving after 9 would be too late. It'd probably take us another half hour to even find them. maybe i can convince them to do the party a different night so my bf and I can still eat at 'Ohana!

Good idea to not do both the same night.

As PP said, the later in the evening the later Ohana runs behind. Not only does being seated take longer but the service is very slow after 7ish.

When we eat anywhere at WDW we are in and out is usually an hour. That is not rushing, but not mingling either. At Ohana we have never been out in less than 2 hours.
I love the food but the service is always lacking for me.
