I have ressie for Ohana for myself, DH and DS 15. I have heard the hype and want to experience it for myself. However, DH and DS are very picky eaters.
DS will not eat the salad and I am not sure if Dh will or not. They will probably not try the potstickers, brocoli, and not sure on noodles. DH hates bananas so not sure if he will try dessert.
I know they could love the meats and be happy, but I keep wondering if I should book somewhere else. Our ressie is early, so we will not see Wishes there. The games are not a factor in the decision.
We have 8 nights, so we have booked alot of good places and it is not like if we eat here we will miss the opportunity to go to a "best place". We would most like do something a second time if we cancel here.
I know alot of you love it; is there anyone like us who went in not caring for alot of the dishes? Did you love or hate it?

I'm a vegetarian and we still go there because I really like the salad, sides and dessert. There are so many different types of meat! Maybe Kona would be a better choice for you?

I like Ohana, but probably not as much as some of the other DISers out there. It's not a can't miss for me, however it can be a lot of fun.

Two things to note: There is a kids menu available upon request (don't know how old your DS is); and
It is all you care to eat, so if DH or DS only like the noodles or the steak, they can get as much of it as they want.

BTW the wings and potstickers are really yummy.

Those are all the things I go for. I don't think it would be worth the money for just meat.

One other thing on the bananas. I would still try it and ask the server to not put the bananas foster sauce on the dessert. I find the bread pudding and ice cream delightful, but the sauce is just way too sweet for me. Maybe that would be a good comprimise on the dessert.

Good luck either way...this is a fabulous meal in my opinion. The shrimp is outstanding. :thumbsup2

I think choosing a buffet would be your best choice. I have never been to Ohana but plan on going next month but I love everything on their menu I do not think I would go for just the meat. Ask your family what they would like to do that way you wont feel guilty about the outcome. :)

I do fine there and don't eat the bread, pot stickers or rice, or the sauces for the meats....and very little of the dessert.

if there is something you like, there is plenty of it!!
For me it is the salad, the turkey and the beef.

Our dessert in the past has come with the sauce in a little pitcher and we poured it on ourselves.

You might ask the server if they would bring out another dessert like fresh pineapple with caramel dipping sauce. We got both desserts last year after my sil made some comment about eating too much and my niece not liking bananas. So they both had plain pineapple. Everyone had both ;)
