We just returned from our annual trip to WDW. We like to enjoy nice dinners and always make a couple of reservations to take advantage of relaxing over a good meal. Ohana is one that we really look forward to. This time we had ADRs at 9:30 p.m. for a 10 p.m. Wishes view. The evening started great... great company - my husband, me and our two teenage daughters, a before dinner drink at Tambu Lounge, moving onto a great table in the main dining room next to the window ... life was good! However, from there, it went rapidly south. Service was the worst we ever received anywhere in WDW and the meal was terrible. Steak was raw, shrimp were too spicy (and I like spicy) and the noodles had a funky dirty feet taste to them. All in all, I think I could have muddled through with the meal without being totally annoyed - the bread, salad, broccoli, chicken and, of course, dessert were very good! However, the two servers we had were terrible and we will not return for some time after this last experience. We contemplated over saying something to the manager but when we were leaving he was with another table (who had our same two servers....hmmm....). Our teenage girls just wanted to leave and were asking not to say anything - I wanted to show them that the evening was not even close to "standard" and that talking with the manager was not a bad thing - if done correctly and not in a yelling confrontation manner. We decided to leave it alone - thank goodness we don't have many of these evenings!

We've had really good meals there and we've had a really bad experience, too. The bad experience was later in the evening, just as the fireworks were about to begin. Our servers literally brought everything at once. We had every single skewer brought to us as soon as the salad, bread, and appetizers were put on the table. Of course, everything was cold by the time we were able to get to it.

We've decided not to ever go close to closing again. We'll watch the fireworks from somewhere else, and enjoy dinner there earlier in the evening when they take their time.

:sad2: I hoping it was just an off night, I don't want to have to deal with terrible service/food when we go in June.

We had a similar experience on our first trip to Ohana. We were seated at 9:30 pm, served cold food and had intolerably looooooong stretches in between appearances of our server. We had no view of the fireworks so the late seating was completely useless.

This past January, on the other hand...we had a 5 pm ADR and had the complete opposite experience. We'll never book during Wishes again.

well its still booked solid for 9 days we are to be at Disney :( of course we do not have a 5 P.M. reservation nor quite a 9:30 P.M. reservation

What time was your reservation that you were seated at 9:30?

Our ADR was for 9:30 - we got to the Tambu Lounge about 8:45 p.m. I believe we were being seated in the dining room by 9:15 - which was fine with us. The dining room was not very crowded which I thought was unusual being so close to Wishes. The food was hot - that was not the problem; however, the steak was not done - but still warm on the outer edges. Plus, we did have two different servers bringing the meat portion of the meal over (they were very nice and funny with our daughters). All in all, it really did seem that we were off to a great start. Ultimately, our "main" servers brought the evening down - our gentleman server was trying to compensate for his incredibly rude partner - and at that point, I was shutting down to them both and trying to enjoy what was left of the evening. My second Mai Tai helped ALOT!

We ate at 'Ohana's on Saturday night and it was wonderful. Everything was delicious and our servers were super nice. Of course we didn't get seated until over an hour after our ADR time, but we know that's usually the deal when it comes to eating there. Sorry you had a bad experience.

Wow, I am surprised it was so bad! We were there last Wed. night (11th) and we had wonderful food and service. We were about 15 minutes late for our ADR and still seated within 5 minutes. I wonder if it was the late time that you went? Sorry you had such a bad meal.

We have eaten there 3 times total now and have never had a problem. Our last trip we ate there twice. We timed it perfectly. We were able to see the 4th of july fireworks on the 3rd while eating dessert. It was a great evening as we did not know there would be fireworks at that time and we were seated right at the window looking at the castle. We also at there the last night of our trip as a way to enjoy our last evening and had a great time. Daughter likes the entertainment.

The last three times we have eaten at 'Ohana (Aug. & Dec. 2010 and April 2011) were after 9:00 p.m. and all three meals were very good and the service was excellent. I purposely booked a 9:30 adr for our upcoming trip in August as we have such good experiences eating there late and watching Wishes. BTW - the noodles were one of my favorite dishes served and I didn't think they tasted like "dirty feet" - not that I would know what dirty feet taste like.

Sorry you had a bad experience. When we went in August we had terrible service too, it made me want to write a complaint letter and I never do that. Our server was never around and when he was at our table he was rude. We had an ADR for earlier in the evening, so bad service can happen anytime.

We did find the food to be really good and would give it another chance one day.
