Ohana Items at Tambu Lounge

Just got back from a weekend trip to Universal, but went and ate dinner at ohana on the Saturday. The last time we ate there was 2019 and it was really good, this time we felt the noodles were not cooked very well and they were just dripping in the sauce. Has anyone else noticed this or was this just a bad batch of noodles?

Bad batch. I was there last month and noodles were great. I did have to ask for a different batch of beef medium rare as what came out was tougher than we like.

I do miss the old chicken - not a huge fan if the chimichurri chicken. Although we mostly focus on the beef anyway so it doesn’t matter.

In our experience tonight, we were told we had to be sitting at the bar or the tables before we could order any food.
Really? That’s too bad. We were able to order it without sitting down. One night we did sit at a table, the other time, 3 days later we didn’t. I guess you could sit at a table and once they bring it, ask for a to go box. We took leftovers back to our room. This was in August, maybe they changed their policy.

We ended up just eating there. Maybe they would have been more likely to let you order without sitting if it hadn’t been so busy. We were so full from lunch, we ended up eating later. Plus it was a Friday night. I figure that’s their way to control the number of orders so they aren’t overwhelmed.

Anyone know what the prices are for the noodles and bread pudding and wings at the Lounge?

Wish I could answer this, but I can say that my wife and I shared the wings, noodles and bread pudding and each had a tiki drink and the bill was about the same as one adult at 'Ohana!

I can verify this. Not sure I have my receipt anymore but a ~$15 cocktail, a ~$10 beer, two noodles, one wings, one bread (not bread pudding tho) was $60-some plus tip. Total charge was $73.04.

It was either $12 or $13 each for noodles and pot stickers when we went last weekend. We didn't get wings or bread pudding but I think it's probably all similar. I know the bread pudding is $12 if you mobile order from Kona.

I believe the wings are around $15. IIRC that is what we paid in August. Disclaimer, prices are likely to have gone up since then! 🤣

Thanks to all who responded! I think I’m gonna bypass Ohana for Tambu Lounge in October.

That's a good call IMHO. We haven't done the full 'Ohana experience in a while, but the apps were my favorite part of the last couple of meals. We only got the noodles and pot stickers from Tambu and between the two of us we were stuffed, had leftovers, and saved like $90+ in the process. I still like 'Ohana in theory but in practice we can have just a good a meal from the bar and save a ton of cash for something else.

We booked dining specifically to avoid Ohana and we’re staying at the Poly. It’s crazy that a deluxe hotel is serving subpar meats. We will be going to STK71 instead.

Remember when you could get ohana meal brought to your room? I never did that, but that sounded amazing.

I’ve heard about it. That’s when Ohana we a must do for us. Would love to have that option but Disney keeps cutting back. COVID is just an excuse. They just dropped park passes for the last week of Dec so are overcrowding the parks.

refreshing this post: Are there any updates on Tambu lounge and the noodles? Online, they are NOT listed on the menu anymore. Has anyone been able to order them, even though they aren't on the menu?

I was there in September, 2023 and was able to order the noodles, pot stickers and bread pudding. I sat at the bar, ordered a drink and food. As soon as the food came out I requested a to-go container

I had the noodles and bread pudding there in late April 2024. Not on menu I just asked.
