O'hana for dinner...is it really that good?

We have been to 'Ohana once. I had planned to go back this year but after looking at the menu items, we discovered that the only thing our family would probably eat are the meats and the kids would have to have something different anyway. We loved the potatoes but the noodles just don't appeal to us. None of us would eat the dumplings and I would be the the only one that would try the wings. The veggies would be ok. No one in our family will eat peel-and-eat shrimp. So we are going to Kona instead.

Wow we all love the noodles, dumplings, and wings. There are some of the better wings I've had. Can't believe they are not a favorite for all.

No matter what the restaurant, if you don't find much on the menu that you'd like to eat, then skip it!

We love it and its a deal breaker for my DH. If we don't eat there, he isn't going to WDW...with that said, for his sake, I hope its as good as the last time we ate there. :worship:

If you like food in the summer you will love ohana. i absolutely made that my favorite must-do again restaurant.

I actually am a big wing lover- but they are "okay" compared to the meats you get. I ate the dumplings like candy! And the lo mein was just delicious- sweet and delicious! I have pictures I can send your way (But- the banana pudding was OMG out of this world!)

We're trying to decide on 'Ohana too...would you mind posting pictures when you have a chance? Thanks! :thumbsup2

Been about 4 times it was a 1st night traditionthat we all LOVED then we went last Sept for our honeymoon and it just wasnt the same, the meat was all dry and over cooked, I was going to give it another chance for our trip next month but it was booked so we are trying Kona.

I'm sure I will be in the minority, but I was not as crazy about O'hana as most are on the boards. By no means was it bad, but I didn't think it was all that great. When we go back in the spring, it will not be one that I have to repeat. I thought the meat was tough, and dry. I would choose Kona Cafe next door over O'hana. I will say, they have the atmosphere, but strictly on food, Kona.

I agree. The atmosphere is great, the food is fun but not great. If you've never dined in this style of a restaurant before you'd probably enjoy the experience.:earsboy:

Thanks for the info everyone! I am going to scratch this one off the list and keep shula's!

I didn't care for Ohana..but most people like it. My DH and I are a little snobbish...our favorites:
Jiko, Boma, California Grill, Fulton's Crabhouse, Whispering Canyon, Sanaa and Citrico's for excellent food.
For character meals with decent food:
Crystal Palace lunch, Tusker House Breakfast and if you're lucky, during lunch at Chefs de France, Remy may make an appearance.
