Ohana for a solo?

I understand Ohana is a family style place to eat. Since I am going solo to WDW and the POLY this time, would I even enjoy eating there? I really want to try the food, but would it be weird to sit with a bunch of people who already know each other???

I saw a couple of people eating by themselves. The wait staff seemed very attentive. There is a lot of food already at the table, but even with 3 of us, we didn't eat everything either! So, I say go for it and enjoy yourself!

I would say go, and enjoy yourself! You won't have to sit with strangers, you will have a table for yourself.

I've never been to Ohana's and wanted to try it this year. Does the buffet include desserts? Thanks

Ohana's is family style, but that means the food is served family style, you sit at individual tables according to your family size.

I got mixed up with the desserts, I was used to desserts included in the plan, so when we passed by the desserts (when you're shown to your table you get a tour of the fire pit, the dessets, the bread and appetizers is explained) and I thought I got to chose from one of those... (oops) no, at that time you got a fresh pineapple and dipped it in a wonderful carmel sauce that is included with the price of the meal...

You can have a table all to yourself if you want. Everyone is usually busy eating that they don't notice the groups at other tables. Unless of course there are a bunch of kids that are running around the table misbehaving.

We usually don't have room for any dessert after the meal so it usually isn't a problem but no the dessert bar is not included in the price of the meal.

The only dessert included is their pineapple with caramel sauce. The other desserts are sold ala carte.

If you're anything like me... you're going to be glad pineapple caramel is the only desert they included in the meal.
I usually waddle out of the restaurant after we're done... and I mean waddle... couldn't put anything in afterwards...
And pineapple has a cooling effect in your stomach, which will help after you stuff your face silly...
