I know there have been many threads about this, but I am still having trouble answering this question. What would be the best time for an 'Ohana ADR for a lagoon side table to view Wishes. There are ADRs for 5pm to 6:45 and from 8:00 onward available. I would guess 8pm would be best, but is later better? Thanks for the help!

What time is Wishes that night? We had an 8:15p adr back in August when the show was scheduled for 10pm. We finished up about 10-15 min before the start of the show- which was what we wanted, since we prefer watching from the Poly beach. We let the kids play in the sand, I set up the camera, and DH and I had a nice drink while watching the show. I have a friend who went last month who had an 8:45p adr with fireworks at 10pm and she knows they went off while they were dining. They were celebrating a bday so that seemed to trump any fireworks fanfare for them, but she also said they were about 1 row off from the windows and really had a view of nothing. While we've had a table at 'Ohana for breakfast that seems like it would have been ideal for fireworks viewing, it does look like the bulk of the tables offer more of an obstructed view (or very little at all). Due to the popularity of 'Ohana, I'm not sure how receptive they are to people wanting to wait for a table with a perfect view. I've never asked about that so I wouldn't know, but I can highly recommend going out after dinner to watch from the beach. It made dinner soooo much more relaxing...i.e. not worrying about getting the perfect table...just making it through the meal to get comfy on the beach in time. Either way- I think the later (but not too late) times are best. i.e. I wouldn't go for a 9:40p if Wishes is at 10 since many people with ideal spots are probably going to stretch out their meal to keep that spot.

I try not to go to restaurants for specific fireworks viewing to avoid disappointment if I can't get a window table. I agree with eating and then watching Wishes from the Beach. It is a fabulous view!

From my experience your chances are much better to get an 8:00 reservation and view the fireworks from the beach. There are a lot of tables at 'Ohana and only a very few of them offer a view of the fireworks. 'Ohana is very very popular and there are not any open tables just sitting empty so you can say can I have that table instead. You can request a table, but may have to wait some time to get that table. The food comes out to you fast, as it is all prepared, since everybody gets the same thing. Our meal lasted 45min-1hour. So if you get there at 8 and expect to see the 10:00PM fireworks, I would say you are out of luck. You could finish you meal and wait an hour, but that would be rude to the people outside waiting for a table. The beach offers a great view of the fireworks.

Yes. Very few tables offer a fireworks view. I would never count on being able to see fireworks there.
