Hey there.
So we are doing our yearly Bounce Back vacation at the Beach Club. We are starting the Bounce Back on the first day it is available, 8/20. Flights from Boston were so much cheaper on the 19th than the 20th so I decided to book a Resort Only reservation for the 19th and picked the Poly because I have always wanted to stay there. I had already booked all of our ADR's prior to that reservation at the 180 day mark.
Because we were at the Poly I wanted to book Ohana for the 4 of us on the first night. Of course since it was well past the 180 day mark there was zero availability. I even asked the Club Level staff to see if they could give it a shot (we are staying Club Level) and no dice. I wrote it off and said I would go in from time to time to see if for whatever reason it became available but given that we only wanted it on a specific day and at a specific time I assumed we had no shot at getting it.
So this morning I went in and paid off our trip, which was thrilling in it's own right, and thought I would give Ohana on the 19th at 6:00 one last shot. And lo and behold there was a table for 4 available at 6:30. I clicked on the time so fast I was surprised that my keyboard wasn't smoking!! I then went back in for the hell of it to see if maybe a bunch of times opened up but again nothing. I must of had PERFECT timing with someone cancelling and me going in immediately after and grabbing it.
So thank you to whoever cancelled a reservation for 4 on August 19th and the moral of the story is to never, ever give up on trying to grab an ADR at one of the WDW hot spots. You just never know!!!!

glad it worked out! And I agree, never give up! I've always been persistent with my ADRs and kept checking each day. By doing this, i've always gotten the ADRs I wanted. Its always worked for me! Another tip is to check even the night before. Many people cancel their ADRs the day before (in order to avoid the $10 pp fee).
