We arrive in 13 days and and are staying at the Polynesian. We unfortunatly have not been able to secure a reservation at Ohana as of yet. Does anyone know if Ohana has any reserved dining spots for guests staying at there resort? Any tips and tricks on how to get a reservation?

They do have a walk up wait list that you can join day of through the MDE app. You can also keep checking for reservations, as it gets closer more people cancel when they solidify their plans

We always get our Ohana reservations last minute because people cancel a day or two beforehand. We have also had a lot of luck with the walk up list on the app and just going to the host when they open and asking about availability.

As PPs have noted, don't lose hope. While the restaurant does not hold reservations for hotel guests, getting reservations last minute (1-2 days beforehand) or even day-of through the waitlist function on the app happens quite frequently. You may want to consider signing up for a dining alert service to get notifications when reservations open up. When we stayed at GF, we saw 'Ohana on the walk-up list just about every evening.

( 1st trip to Disney and I’m taking 10 people!)

I thought Disney said a while back they were going to start holding back some reservations for hotel guests. Does anyone know if that happened or how they are using them?

We've had really good luck with booking 'Ohana last minute. I couldn't get anything before travel, but I left room for it later in our trip and about 2 days before my ideal date, things started popping up. In this case it was dinner, but I started with something a little too late, changed to something a little on the early side when it became available, and in stalking again...day before...I found an ADR that was timed perfectly. I know many people want to be done with ADR booking before they travel, but if you've got some downtime while waiting in a queue, you can check for availability.

This is what I thought that I heard as well.

I’m noticing the talk about whether or not they will save any reservations for hotel guests: We are staying there.
Does anyone have the number to call the hotel concierge or the front desk?

Every time I call into Disney i get a random cast member, nothing specific to the Polynesian and they tell me they can’t direct me to the Polynesian????

Thanks for all your help. I hope everyone has the best vacation they can imagine.

Hotel management doesn't handle dining reservations. The concierge desk can book them for you if any are available but pretty much same basis as your finding what you want yourself.

As prior posters indicate, keep checking or sign up for an ADR alert service.

Now that people can cancel up to 2 hours before their ADR time, I bet there's a much better chance of snagging a cancellation late the night before or early on day of.

All such go to a distant call center. Ridiculously, even those from resort rooms are answered at the call center. That's why resort guests are advised to go to the front desk about any issues.

Yes, sort of..

This doesn't mean that if you are staying there that you can walk in and they will have tables reserved for hotel guests, but it does mean that when making your reservations initially, you will see more availability as a hotel guest than someone offsite will.

You also don't have to be staying at that specific hotel either (ie, Polynesian for better Ohana availability). You just have to be an onsite guest in general.

A group of 10 is probably going to be difficult no matter what. You may try splitting into 6 and 4 and hunting for reservations in the day or 2 prior to when you want to eat.

Right? I was in 2 different rooms for my January trip, and the room phone didn't even work in EITHER of them! Trying to get to Bell Services using my cell phone was a huge hassle.

I dearly miss when private dining was still available at Poly and you could get the Twilight Feast. Way cheaper than eating in the actual restaurant and there was something really cool about eating 'Ohana food on our balcony in PJs.

We're just back from the Poly. The walk up wait list is available on the app. Just like a waitlist at any restaurant at home. During the week we saw it range anywhere from 10-55 minutes. It will fill up/close if there's no further availability. Might be really hard with a party of 10, but you could always split and do 6/4.
