Ohana Character Breakfast...or Chef Mickey's?

Has the character breakfast at Ohana improved at all since 2008? Family-style at the Poly with Mickey sounded so promising last time, but the food was WAY too salty...to the point of being inedible (except for the bread). I would REALLY love to give it another shot. DS wants to see Mickey, and I like the atmosphere at Ohana MUCH better...plus we prefer family style. I have to make my ADR's tomorrow. Any thoughts?

TIA :goodvibes

We haven't been to Ohana, but did Chef Mickey's in January. I was unsure due to several recent reviews of "just ok", and "gone down" since last visit. DH and I both really enjoyed it, and thought breakfast was good. My brother and SIL went in Dec for dinner, said they wouldn't go back for dinner, however would be back to Ohana for dinner- they really enjoyed food much better. That said I booked my ressies for Chef Mickey's about 2 hours ago, and Ohana isn't an option because DD8 still wants to be NO WHERE near Stitch!!:earsgirl:

It's been a couple of years since we've eaten at Chef Mickey's, but we just had breakfast at Ohana this past December and it was very good and not too salty :thumbsup2. We also love the atmosphere and the family style serving :).

Thank you! We're going to make our ADR's for Ohana then! :goodvibes Worst case, we'll end up having juice and bread like last time, hahaha! :)

Do you remember if there was fresh fruit too? I can't remember, but I think I saw fruit on the menu here. :confused3

I prefer Ohana, didn't really care for Chef Mickey (felt rushed). I'm surprised the food was salty when you were there, I don't use salt at all and it was fine for me. Hope you have a better experience this time around!

We have done both and much prefer Ohana. The food was better in that it was table service (family style) not a buffet. Nothing wrong with a buffet but all things being equal I would rather not have to stand in line with the kids. I also really enjoyed the juice.

Character interactions were the same the only difference being the tropical Mickey vs. Chef Mickey. I also preferred the atmosphere. Chef Mickey's was less themed in my view.

I would choose Ohana, hands down. I always do :) On our second trip we tried Chef Mickey and it didn't compare to Ohana. Now we always go to Ohana for breakfast.

The feeling of Ohana is "cozy" with the family-style service and the atmosphere. In contrast, the acoustics at Chef Mickey aren't good...very loud.

we did both breakfasts when we were there in the last 2 weeks and we preferred ohana. chef mickeys wasnt very hot tbh and we got a lovely table at ohanas with a lovely view and as others have said the bread is lovely and the food wasnt salty

Went to Ohana in October and LOVED it. Breakfast there was the best one on our trip! :)

Are Pluto and Mickey still included in the the character breakfast along with Stich and Lilo?
