O'Hana Changes Coming Soon....

Now I know that I am new and all but...

And I might get flamed for this but...

Does it seem like to anyone else that LittleBlueGirl is the one with all the 'answers' and is causing a great bit stir and confusion. That poster is new and all, and I am just not ready to accpet what they are saying.

Just my opinion...

I stated that as well.

LittleBlueGirl has listed everything O'hana's serves and said it will be replaced. I agree with theycallmered and Cindy B, this person is just messing around with everyone.

Well potatoes are and have been a big part of the Polynesian diet. Especially yams but not au gratin. They could add breadfruit for real authenticity!!!

Why couldn't they wait until next year to make the changes. My family is going in September and we have ADRs the for O'hana the first night we are there. My 1yr old can be picky with his food but loves rice. I was counting on the fried rice in case he did not like anything else.

Is there anything else that a 1yr old would be able to eat at Ohana's?

My kids at one would have eaten the bread, maybe some plain green bean (cut up fine), or some other stuff, like a meat cube wiped dry and cut up fine as well.. My kids ate all types of food at a year.

They have mac and cheese, chicken tenders, hot dogs, as well for the kids, just order it. It doesn't cost extra at all.

I'm pretty sure the kettle chips comment was a joke.

no it wasn't, someone on another thread said they heard it from a CM

Or perhaps they could serve durian.
Ugh! Durian! The smell of that fruit is so repulsive! I haven't had the chance to taste it because I always had to leave the room whenever somebody started eating it.

Hmm, we were just there in June and last November and had NO problems getting the kids selections for the kids and were not charged at all. Now, you can order a kids meal, which comes from Kona Cafe and they do charge you, but they do have a whole kids selection buffet style that is included.

I am seriously going to be ticked if these changes do occur. My kids (and heck, me too!) love rice and you don't find it at many non-Chinese food restaurants. And if they take away wontons, and all the other stuff, I just don't see how it can be 'Ohana. I don't understand why Disney has to mess with something all in the name of "let's make it more upscale". They already charge an arm and a leg to eat there and the place is always full! If people didn't like it ~ they wouldn't come!

'Ohana has been our traditional first dinner at Disney forever. It's going to suck if these changes make us change our tradition.

On the food pictures thread, post #1260 is the photo of the new veggies. (I think its page 82/83-don't quote me on that though)

The rice is still there though, but at least there is a photo of the vegetables.

We have never been to O'hana, but according to everyone, it is a must on any itinerary.

Is the dinner a buffet? We are using the dining plan, so was just figuring out our schedule ahead of time.

I just realized, if everyone emailed Disney explaining or asking, why it might not get any immediate results, but at least it would give Disney a "heads up" and dont mess with what works!! I mean really, if they didnt have a waiting list, etc I could understand trying to futz with the menu...

anyway...

Tim asked if it was a dinner buffet, and it is an all you can eat buffet, but they bring it to you - no problem...

and for the kids menu - our dd just doesnt eat food, she eats ketchup, and likes fries on the side of her bowl of ketchup - lol and that's what I told the waiter, he brought her a bowl of ketchup and some fries - and we werent charged.. but part of that may be because we were joking around (except I am serious about dd horrible diet!! )

Hey daaannzzz, durian is really good.
It'll stink your whole place when you open 1 up.
But it is oh so yummy.

I can even tell you how to wash your hands so that it will stop smelling like durian... :rotfl:

I have heard that they don't taste like the smell, much like Blue Cheese. So I might try it if I get the chance. BUT, while it is exotic looking and sounding, I don't think 'Ohana is a good place to start serving them! :rolleyes1

That's true, they taste yummy and not at all like the smell.
And you should try it when you get a chance and I agree... Ohana is not the place for it... :teeth:
