I'm interested in eating at 'Ohana and the Cape May Clam Bake while in WDW. Do I need to make reservations at either one? We plan to eat early (5-6pm).

I've heard you can see Cinderella's Castle if you get a window table at 'Ohana. Is this true?

My MIL isn't very adventurous when it comes to trying new foods. Will she be unhappy with the menu at 'Ohana?

We have found even with a PS if you arrive at the clam bake when it opens there is usually a 10-15 minute wait. That is due to the time it takes for them to get the first wave of folks in and seated.

I didn't find the O'Hana food too unusual. It was grilled meet on skewers. There were some sauces and sides, but mostly it was meat. Oh, and pineapple with caramel sauce. I never would have thought to put the two together but it was good.

If you want to see the castle at Ohana's you will have to ask them not to seat you in front of the Volcano for the pool as it blocks the view.

So do you think I could get away without calling ahead for PS? Or should I make sure I have the reservations? Sorry, wasn't real clear on that. I hate to be tied down to a certain time if I don't have to be.

If you try to make it there around when they open up, you should be okay, although if you're going during a holiday period you might want to make ressies anyway.

Thanks.

Should I make sure we sit in the main dining area near the fire pit? I just read that in a guide book, but I wanted to hear from people who have actually "been there, done that".

I would definetly be making PS's for that time. You are going to be there for Soap Opera Weekend, and Jersey week. We will be at O'Hana's at 7:10 on the 8th. Maybe we will see you there! I always ask to sit near the window when we check in.

I remember one year when we were there Jersey week and couldn't get into Cape May. I would go ahead and make them. You can always cancel if you need to. Have a great trip. Let us know how you like O'Hana's. We are trying this the first time Thanksgiving week.:D

cape mays first seating is 5:30 I believe and on two occasions I couldn't get ps far out in advance and had to change nights.

Thanks everyone! I'm going to go ahead and call for PS at both restaurants today.
