We want to do a character b-fast on our last morning. DH is set on doing Ohana's so he can wear his Hawaiian shirt and meet Stitch. So I booked it this morning because he really wanted it. Now I go and check the food offerings and it lists like only 5 things at Ohana's where Chef Mickey's (we've eaten there before) and Park Fare have full hot and cold buffet offerings!!! :sad2: I tell DH this and he says he doesn't care he wants to eat there. Are those really the only things they offer at Ohana's? I guess in the long run it doesn't matter a whole lot because I'm not a big eater and even less of a b-fast food fan (I'd probably only do the fruit and eggs any where, regardless) and DH will eat up anything offered for b-fast because he likes a good traditional b-fast.

:confused3 Would you recommend it based on what you know about us now?? I suppose I answered the question myself, but I like to hear from my DisSupport group!

PS-He reminds me that we will have some view of the castle while we eat...tug at my heart strings why doesn't he!

I'd like to know as well. I'm very picky and we did Donald's breakfast and Pooh's breakfast in June but I want to know if there is a lot to offer at Ohana's because I too am going to meet stitch and see the poly. Also, is it American food or more of a Hawaiian style?

thanks for your help

The food at 'Ohana really is limited to what is on the menus. It is served at your table, not as a buffet. You get a basket of sweet rolls and biscuits. You get a small tray of fresh fruit. Then the hot foods come out on a big platter. Scrambled eggs, mickey waffles, bacon, sausage and fried potatoes. It is a standard american breakfast with fun characters.

I thought it was one of the more fun character breakfast. I haven't been in 4 years (the last time we stayed at Poly) but at that time, the characters would march around the room and the kids could follow. We have video tape of my then 3 year old and my then 14 month old (holding my hand) marching around following the characters.

The Mickey waffles were delicious. The variety may not be there but the food taste IMO was yummy.

I even bought a Mickey waffle maker when we got home. I made the Disney recipe a few times but these days, I'm lazy and just use Bisquick.

It was one of my favorite character breakfasts.

Here's a picture of the big skillet of food they bring you.

Bacon,Sausage, Mickey Waffles, Eggs, and Potatoes.

We also had fresh fruit, and a yummys basket of sweet breads, juice and coffee or tea. If you want more, they will bring you more. It was great! :thumbsup2

We loved it! The food was brought to you, and it was fresh and hot (Not on a buffet all morning being picked over)

wow, that looks good. I'm glad I'll be eating at 'Ohana for the first time on my upcoming trip.
There are only 2 people in my party (myself and my mother), do we have to sit at a large table with other people?

If your DH wants to meet Stitch and wear his hawaiian shirt, then definately eat at Ohana. We tried it a few weeks back and loved it. It was one of our fave breakfasts of the trip. Yes the menu is limited, but it was all very good.

To answer the previous poster, you sit at your own table. You will not have to sit with another party. The platter is brought just for your group.

Awesome!
Thank You.
We're not anti-social, but we prefer not to eat with strangers, so this is a relief. :goodvibes

I don't care for Ohana at dinner, but I gave the breakfast a try. We loved it, probably the best character meal we had. I know the buffet has a huge selection, but this food was very good, all you can eat.......and they wait on you !!!! Besides the skillet food was a wonderful fruit platter and sweet breads - very yummy in the tummy !

Here is the skillet ~ sausage, bacon, eggs, potatoes, waffles, bisquit....

If you have dietary restrictions, they will try to accomodate you. My sis is on a restricted diet, uses a feeding tube, and she can nibble on a fried egg. They made her fried eggs over well... and she had a little bit of sausge. We went with family and we all had a great time. We weren't on the dining plan, but they took the DDE discount for all of us.

thanks for sharing! i booked the Breakfast this AM. Stitch is Ds's favourite character!

mrzrich and HopperFan, thanks for posting those pics. We have an ADR for 2/1 and your pics really helped me get DH excited about going to 'Ohana for breakfast!

We've done the Ohana character breakfast a couple of times, last one being this past summer. It is by far our favorite character breakfast! The food is great and its nice being waited on instead of having to get up and down at a buffet. Also, it isn't too crowded, so you get good time with the characters. I highly recommend it!

We ate at Ohana's over Christmas when we were at Disney. It was probably our favorite Character meal in a long time. The interaction was great. This was the view from out table:

We are planning on doing this breakfast in September for the first time.

Would anyone know if they would be happy to bring the bacon and sausages out seperate from the eggs and waffles. I am a veggie and don't really want the meat on the veggie food.

HopperFan? Were you solo? Is that the skillet for one?

I'm going solo in Nov and am planning on brekkie at 'Ohana on my last day and was worried there would be too much food.

Silly, I know. ;)

We just returned from a Magical Christmas Gathering trip 2 wks ago and did the O'hana character breakfast. All eight of us agree it's the best and as previously posted it was fun too. The characters visited our table 'many' times and we had lots of laughs and fun participating in the parade. We had one of our best servers during our trip there. Unfortunately I forgot her name.

If you saved your receipt, her name will be on it.

If this is where he really wants to go, then I would go regardless of the food offerings.

Thanks for posting the pics everyone! We want to book this breakfast for our July trip and the visual helps bunches!:)
