Ohana breakfast...a cut above the rest?

I thought I had this all figured out but of course I am constantly changing my mind. I wanted to take ds to Ohana's for his birthday during our trip for the character breakfast. I looked at the menu and wasn't really all that impressed (keep in mind I'm not usually a breakfast eater). Is the breakfast really good there or should I be looking at somewhere else to eat? Also does anyone know if they do anything special for birthdays?

As I side note, where do you get the Tonga Toast (I think I said that right)?

Tonga Toast is from Kona Cafe in the Poly. We loved Ohanas breakfast. DS4 and DS6 loved seeing Stitch. He was so funny. They have a parade that the children can join and march around the restaurant. The food was very good and it was so nice to be served rather than go up to the buffet. Mickey, Pluto, and Lilo were also there. Lilo acted so embarrassed by Stitch's behavior. It was definitely the highlight of our trip! We are planning on booking it again in October!

It was a great breakfast with Stitch. If you go, don't forget to get a Stitch Hat in the Boutiki for Stitch to sign.

Its a blast. Really lots of fun.

Here is my review with pics of the food. I thought the food was really good. Nothing like Mickey waffles, sausage, sticky buns and fruit.

You can plan ahead and have the GF bakery deliver something there like a small cake or something and Maybe, 95% sure, I bet they will do something like sing happy B'day, or have Stitch come back to the table when he gets his cake. You can mention it to the hostess at check in. YOu never know what might happen.

I'm glad to hear that Ohana breakfast is entertaining! I am torn between chef mickey and ohana for a late breakfast before heading off to Seaworld for the day. I'm leaning towards Ohana because my sister is obsessed with stitch (her room is full of stitch stuffed toys and trinkets) and I liked the idea of being served instead of having to get up and walk to the buffet.

We went there last October. We were seated at 9am, saw Stitch and Pluto fairly quickly, service was pretty good, food was good as well. My only complaint was that it took Lilo and Mickey almot an hour and a half to get to our table. We didn't leave until quarter to 11. We had completely finished our breakfast and just waited and waited for those 2 to hit our table. Normally I would have just left and seen those characters in the parks, but my neice is a Lilo fan, and this was her first time at WDW, so I didn't want to risk her not seeing Lilo on the parks. On a positive note, the wait staff did NOT rush out or make us feel as if we had overstayed our welcome.

I know I'm partial to O'Hana because we went there on our first morning, but it set the tone for our whole trip. Our experience was wonderful. I will never forget the look on the kids' faces when they saw Stitch (especially) and Mickey, Pluto & Lilo. We liked the food, but just left there HAPPY and ready for our wonderful journey at WDW.:dance3:

We did O'hana for breakfast last April. It was wonderful! My son loved Stitch and Mickey, he had a small stitch doll and Mickey and Stitch had a playful spat over it. He was just so interested in the characters and parade that he barely ate:)

I remember the food was good, there was fresh fruit, mickey waffles, sausage, yummy sweet bread and more.

I love the atmosphere and would do this breakfast again.

you can also get tonga toast at Poly at Captain Cook's

i agree with the above. this isn't my favorite character dining experience per se, but it's a good way to start the day. i saw goofy instead of lilo unfortunately, but what can ya do. stitch is the star of the show. the food selection isn't nearly as much as other locations, but it is good. and they serve passion fruit juice instead of orange juice.

Oh, do it for your sister, for sure!!! :goodvibes If nothing else...breakfast food is breakfast food. Some of it is really exceptional, but really -- in three years, will you remember the bacon and waffles, or will you remember how delighted your sister was to eat with her favorite character? :stitch: :stitch2:
