My DH LOVES the bread pudding at Ohana and so we have gone there every year for dinner. I'm looking into new restaurants that we haven't tried for this next trip but we will need to take away one from our list.

Here is our list so far:

1900 park fare- breakfast (Heard mixed reviews but our DD6 is into Alice this year and her school is putting on an Alice in Wonderland play so we have to go)

Tusker House- Breakfast (been there before so might change it but we all love breakfast buffets)

Cape May -breakfast (staying at BC so convenient)

Ohana- dinner

Princess Storybook (3rd year doing that too but daugther wants to do a princess dinner and since she's growing up, we are enjoying every minute of her princess phase)

Aloha Show- Bread pudding????

Be Our Guest or 50's Prime -If anyone wants to chime in about these two restaurants, please do. BOG looks like a main dining hall on a cruise but thought we'd give it a try but prime looks much more fun.

Looking to try to fit in Biergarten or Boma for dinner one night and would like to take Ohana away.

Thanks for the help

I wasn't terribly impressed with BOG or 50's PrimeTime. %0's Prime Time was really busy though so that may have been while the service wasn't wonderful (I had to ask 3 times for refills and the food was cold)

BOG The place is gorgeous (Minus the creepy cherubs watching you eat) but the food was meh. (My steak was extremely undercooked and the server wouldn't take it back. It was easily a rare; thick, cold red center inside and I asked for medium. She said that was a medium and they wouldn't cook it more to get to a medium. The next step up was well done. )

The desserts are much better at 50's though

I couldn't find the bread pudding any where else. :( I didn't see it at the Aloha show.

Thanks for the help with BOG/50s

Is BOG interactive? We are looking more for the atmosphere. If it were the food, I would definitely pick 50's prime based on the menu.

Raglan Road has outstanding bread pudding.

BOG is not interactive. At nights when the Beast is there he comes into your room and waves and after your meal you get your picture taken with him that's about it. Go for lunch and check out the atmosphere.

We had read someone suggest to ask the server at Kona at dinner if they will bring it from Ohana.
They said YES!:thumbsup2
Wound up not choosing it, but nice option!:)

50s is hit or miss. We have been skipping it. The bar is a nice stop though for an adult beverage.

They are serving Ohana bread pudding next door a the Tambu lounge. It's a single serving and I thi k it's available afte 5pm.

ok good to know. Wonder if we can just order it to go from Kona.

The TS restaurants are not equipped to fulfill to go orders. The kitchen is busy taking care of the guests in the dining room so you would need a reservation, be seated and then order the dessert and ask for it to be packed to go. Most likely they'll bring you a box so you can pack it yourself. Since the bread pudding is not on the Kona menu there is no guarantee that even if you asked the restaurant could accommodate you.

Individual servings are available at the Tambu Lounge adjacent to 'Ohana and since it doesn't require a reservation it would be better to order and eat it there. It is a warm dessert with ice cream so I am not sure how well it would travel if taken to go.

If DH loves Bread Pudding he MUST go to Raglan Road at DD. Seriously. I went there during our Spring Break 2014 visit and the Bread Pudding was so exceptional I have planned to go there one evening this summer JUST for the Bread Pudding. It was the most memorable food item I had last year. Gotta have it again.

We are defintily going to try the bread pudding when we are in Downtown Disney for Quest.

I was hoping we could order it to go though. :-(

We always get it at Kona. I make it as a dessert every Thanksgiving. Love it!

Is french bread the best option for making it with? Unless there's an Ohana bread recipe

The French toast with foster sauce on the breakfast buffet at Cape May is really similar (I actually prefer it to the bread pudding!) you can also Oder it at Kona.

The best way is to make the coconut bread just
Like they do at Ohana. That's the way I make it. The bread is the main part so changing it will not give you the same bread pudding.
