O'Hana bad?

'Ohana has been our first night tradition ever since our honeymoon trip ten years ago. In fact, we have a later flight for our upcoming trip, and I have an ADR for dinner at 9PM because DH says we're just not in Disney till we eat at 'Ohana. :teeth:

Yes, it's a loud, busy atmosphere, but it only adds to the fun for us. We like to be in the middle of the action and always tell the hostess at the podium that we're willing to wait for a table in the main dining room, but if you prefer a quieter meal, you can always ask to sit toward the back of the room or off to the side.

As for the food, as long as there's no vegetarians in your party, there's really something for everyone. The few times we've had meat that was too dry, we've asked the server to bring us another skewer instead and they did so with no problem.

If you're going with kids, they'll love the coconut races, limbo contest, and hula lessons. 'Ohana is so much fun, and is the essence of "Disney" for us. I think you should try it at least once. Enjoy! :)

I have a question about the meat, I don't like my meat medium-rare, but prefer it medium-well, as this place is buffet style is there any way I can request it this way?

Yes, my husband likes his medium-well also; and he asked for his to be more well done. He loved it.

I just realized that I should have posted this request here instead of the dining review area.

I have an ADR in August for O'Hana. There are several reasons why I wanted to have dinner at the Poly. One, we can't afford to stay there and dinner is the next best thing, two, we spent our honeymoon in Maui and this is our first trip to WDW since we got married, three, we are going to the Pirate and Princess Party that night so I wanted to be close to MK.
Our TA gave O'Hana glowing reviews, but now I'm reading mixed reviews about the food and the atmosphere and I listened to the review on the DIS unplugged...I'm thinking that I should change our ressie to Kona Cafe instead.

HELP!!!

I've never eaten at Kona for dinner but I love breakfast there. We didn't like 'Ohana at all. I've said this at least 1,000 times here....the meats were overly smoked (to the point of UGH!), it was noisy and the kids entertainment was rather chaotic (and they didn't have enough leis for all of the children).
